Taylor Guitars was founded in 1974 by Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug with the vision of creating fresh, innovative designs that give players world class Taylor acoustic/electric guitars that are comfortable, great sounding, and attractive to the eye. Taylor Guitars is known for blending modern, innovative manufacturing techniques with a master craftsman's attention to detail. Taylor acoustic/electric guitars are widely considered among the best-sounding and easiest to play in the world. The company is a pioneer in the use of computer mills, lasers, and other high-tech tools and proprietary machinery. Keeping wildlife conservationism in mind, Taylor Guitars looks to keep forests healthy and sustainable all the while using resources to create magnificent guitars that provide a breadth of tonalities for players of all levels. Many of the tone woods used include Sitka, Spruce, Lutz spruce, Engelmann spruce, African Mahogany, Urban Ash, Urban Ironbark, Crelicam Ebony, East Indian Rosewood, Sassafras, Walnut, Sapele, and Koa to name a few. Taylor acoustic/electric guitars come in a nice variety of shapes that can fit many different players based on build and what they look for in a guitar. Body shapes include GS Mini, Grand Theater, Grand Concert, Grand Auditorium, Grand Pacific, Grand Symphony and Grand orchestra. With a variety that broad, there is certain to be a Taylor acoustic/electric guitar designed for all players. Taylor’s innovative neck design allows players to have a more comfortable and enjoyable experience playing their guitar rather than fighting it. Often regarded for their very low and comfortable action, the Taylor neck design is a home run when it comes to playability.

Featuring models like the flagship 814ce, 314ce, Koa series guitars, GS Mini, as well as the solid wood 300 Series guitars and slim neck 200 Series guitars. Taylor provides a wide pallet of tonal and aesthetic options for players to find their fit. In addition, the sleek body contours of the Builder’s Edition guitar from Taylor provide a great sound and feel. Having two separate factories in Tecate, Mexico and El Cajon, California to manufacture guitars gives Taylor Guitars the opportunity to make guitars that are affordable for entry level players or players on a budget all the way to the highest crafted and exceptional examples of acoustic guitar design. Modern advancements like the highly acclaimed V-Class bracing give Taylor Guitars a unique voice that separates them from other brands. V-Class bracing deviates away from traditional X-Bracing to allow the guitar to breathe a bit more and project more evenly and its predecessors. V-Class guitar bracing controls the top’s flexibility, creating a more orderly rocking motion across both sides of the top. The controlled flexing movement produces greater volume. V-Class bracing makes the top more in tune with the vibrating strings. This eliminates much of the interference that causes some notes to waver and sound slightly out of tune. As a result, notes and chords played anywhere on the neck are more consistent and in tune with each other. The advancement of their expression electronics system makes the guitar sound true and honest when plugged in and amplified. The Taylor Expression System® 2 (ES2) is a revolutionary pickup design that delivers the latest in Taylor’s ongoing innovation in acoustic guitar amplification. The heart of the Expression System 2 is Taylor’s patented behind-the-saddle pickup, which features three uniquely positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors. The location of the sensors enables a more dynamic range of acoustic sound to be captured. Taylor acoustic/electric guitars continue to be innovated every day to allow comfortable and fun guitars to be in players’ hands.
