Gibson Custom Shop Pat Martino 2006 Caramel Brown Used (s/n:CS62847) (Excellent Condition)! Guitar comes with Gibson Hardshell Case!
This is not a Gibson you come across very often.
Built in 2006, serial number CS62847 is a Gibson Custom Shop Pat Martino Signature finished in Caramel Brown. Developed with legendary jazz guitarist Pat Martino, the model was produced from 1998 through 2006 and has a design all its own—part traditional Gibson archtop influence, part solidbody familiarity, and unmistakably built around Martino's preferences as a player.
This example came to Northeast Music Center in excellent used condition and includes its Gibson hardshell case.
The first thing that grabs you is the body. The Pat Martino has a thinline semi-hollow design with a carved Flame Maple top, Mahogany construction, dual F-holes and a distinctive Florentine cutaway. The warm Caramel Brown finish works beautifully with the figuring in the maple, while the gold hardware gives the guitar the dressed-up Custom Shop look you'd expect from a signature model of this caliber.
Built Around Pat Martino
Pat Martino was a serious player, and this guitar reflects that.
The set Mahogany neck uses a slim custom profile designed around Martino's preferences, paired with an Ebony fingerboard and 22 frets. Gibson also gave the model a distinctive straight-string-pull headstock design.
Electronics are classic Gibson: a pair of '57 Classic humbuckers with individual Volume and Tone controls and a 3-way pickup selector. Combined with the semi-hollow construction, it's a natural setup for the warm, articulate clean tones associated with jazz, but there's no reason to limit the guitar to a single style of music.
A Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece complete the setup, with gold hardware throughout.
What we like about the Pat Martino is that it doesn't feel like Gibson simply took an existing production guitar and added an artist's name to it. The body design, neck, headstock and overall construction give the model an identity of its own.
A Rare Gibson Custom Shop Model
The Pat Martino Signature was produced for a relatively short period, from 1998 through 2006, and this guitar comes from that final production year.
For someone specifically looking for one, that's important. This isn't a current model that can simply be reordered in another finish or replaced when it's gone.
It's also the kind of used guitar where we'd encourage you to call us.
At Northeast Music Center, every used instrument is checked over and set up by our luthiers before being offered for sale. With something as uncommon as this Pat Martino, we're also happy to talk through the condition of the actual guitar, provide additional photos, or answer anything you'd like to know before purchasing.
