BIG MESA RESPONSE IN A 1x12
Don't let the single 12-inch speaker fool you.
The Widebody enclosure gives this cabinet a more substantial footprint than a compact 1x12, while the closed-back construction helps produce the tight low end, focused projection, and punch players often want when pairing a cabinet with a powerful tube amplifier.
The result is a cabinet that makes sense for everything from clean and edge-of-breakup tones to classic rock and higher-gain applications.
You get genuine MESA cabinet construction and response in a format that's far easier to live with than a large multi-speaker enclosure.
CELESTION C90 BLACK SHADOW
At the heart of the cabinet is MESA's Celestion C90 Black Shadow 12" speaker.
The C90 has long been associated with MESA amplifiers and cabinets because of its combination of headroom, articulation, strong low-frequency response, and ability to handle a broad range of amplifier voices.
With 90 watts of power handling, this isn't a delicate little 1x12.
It can deliver clean headroom when needed while remaining articulate as gain and volume increase.
WINE TAURUS + WICKER
Then there's the appearance.
Wine Taurus with a Wicker Grille transforms this cabinet from ordinary black stage equipment into something considerably more distinctive.
The deep Wine Taurus covering gives the enclosure a rich, upscale appearance, while the Wicker grille brings in the classic boutique MESA aesthetic.
It's especially attractive underneath a similarly appointed MESA head, but it can also become the visual centerpiece beneath a standard black amplifier.
Wine Taurus + Wicker is simply a great-looking MESA combination.
CLOSED-BACK CONSTRUCTION
The closed-back design helps give this Widebody cabinet its focused character.
Compared with an open-back enclosure, a closed cabinet generally emphasizes tighter low-frequency response, stronger forward projection, and a more controlled feel—qualities particularly useful for players using overdrive, distortion, and higher-gain amplifier settings.
That makes this cabinet a particularly strong partner for many MESA heads.
BUILT THE MESA WAY
MESA cabinets have earned their reputation through more than the speaker installed inside them.
The enclosure itself is an important part of the equation.
Using robust Baltic birch construction, the Widebody 1x12 is designed as a professional cabinet rather than simply a box surrounding a speaker.
For the player who has invested in a serious amplifier head, the cabinet shouldn't be an afterthought.
