And for an anniversary like this, an ordinary Custom 24 simply wasn't going to do.

This exceptional Wood Library build features an Artist Grade Flame Maple top, mahogany neck, Brazilian rosewood fretboard, Brazilian rosewood headstock veneer, Pattern Thin neck profile, McCarty III pickups, Hybrid hardware, and spectacular J-Bird inlays with Green Standard Abalone outlines and solid Paua centers.

30 Years in the Making

The story behind this guitar started three decades ago.

Jack Gretz began selling PRS guitars in the mid-1990s, placing his first PRS order in late 1995 for delivery in early 1996.

That was the beginning of a relationship with PRS that would continue for the next 30 years.

As the years passed, Jack's knowledge of PRS grew alongside the company itself. What began with those first guitars eventually became an important part of Northeast Music Center, which has now spent 15 years selling PRS guitars.

During that time, Northeast Music Center has developed extensive experience throughout the PRS lineup—from SE and S2 guitars to Core instruments, Limited Editions, Wood Library creations, and some truly extraordinary Private Stock guitars.

For this anniversary, we wanted to create something that represented that history.

WL 02819 is part of that celebration.

Artist Grade Flame Maple

The visual centerpiece of this Custom 24 is its Artist Grade Flame Maple top.

Within the PRS hierarchy of figured maple, Artist Grade represents an elevated level of figuring selected for instruments where the visual quality of the wood is an essential part of the build.

And McCarty Sunburst is a perfect finish for it.

Rather than hiding the character of the maple beneath an opaque or extremely dark color, the warm burst allows the figuring to remain front and center. Move the guitar under different lighting and the flame takes on a sense of depth and movement that photographs can only partially capture.

It's classic PRS.

Brazilian Rosewood – USA Only

Then we get to one of the defining specifications of this anniversary guitar.

Brazilian Rosewood.

PRS paired the mahogany neck with a Brazilian rosewood fretboard, giving this Wood Library Custom 24 an exceptionally desirable material specification.

The Brazilian rosewood continues onto the headstock with a matching Brazilian rosewood headstock veneer, creating a beautifully cohesive look from the body through the neck and headstock.

These Brazilian rosewood appointments are designated USA Only.

For the PRS enthusiast or collector, this is an important part of what separates serial 0433408 from a standard-production Custom 24.

Pattern Thin Neck

The mahogany neck is carved to PRS's Pattern Thin profile.

For players who prefer a faster, more streamlined PRS neck, Pattern Thin is an excellent match for the 24-fret Custom platform.

Combine that profile with the 25" scale length, Brazilian rosewood fretboard, and upper-fret access of the Custom 24, and this is very much a guitar designed to be played.

That's important to us.

Rather than simply using the pickup set normally associated with the Custom 24, this anniversary guitar is equipped with PRS McCarty III Treble and Bass pickups.

McCarty III pickups were designed by PRS to capture a clear, dynamic, vintage-inspired voice with excellent note separation and musical response.

In a Custom 24 platform, that creates a fascinating combination: the modern versatility and playability of PRS's flagship 24-fret design paired with the expressive, vintage-influenced voice of the McCarty III pickup family.

Whether you're playing clean, working at the edge of breakup, or pushing an amplifier harder, the goal isn't simply output.

It's clarity, dynamics, and character.

The control layout remains refreshingly straightforward:

Against the dark Brazilian rosewood fretboard, the natural color and iridescence of the shell creates a striking contrast.
