Northeast Music Center Inc. and store owner Jack Gretz knows their way around a Martin guitar through and through. As a dealer for Martin for over 20 years, we have seen many different models come through and have helped create some of the most extravagant pieces to ever leave the Martin Custom Shop. Located just under an hour from the C.F. Martin Guitar Factory, we find ourselves visiting the factory quite frequently to work with the team in the custom shop designing special runs for the store and many different one off models for customers who desire a guitar unique and special to them, with the classic heart, soul and tone of a Martin.
How it works:
So, you've decided that it is time to treat yourself or a loved one to the guitar of your/their dreams, and you aren't sure how to go about getting that guitar made. We here at Northeast Music Center have you covered.
To get started, we ask that you call, email, or contact us on our live chat to discuss about getting set up with a Martin Custom Shop guitar to your liking.
From there, we discuss all of the possibilities and options that are available to you.
These options include:
- Shape and Size - Whether you want a 0-14 fret base or a full sized Dreadnought, you can pick what body style you want to base your custom shop platform on.
- Tonewoods - From traditional woods such as Sitka Spruce, Rosewood, Mahogany etc.. to more exotic woods like Figured Hawaiian Koa or the highly sought after Brazilian Rosewood. We will work with you to make a perfect pair to achieve the sound that you've always dreamed of.
- Inlays - Inlay work is not limited to just the fretboard. If you have an idea of a personalized image or concept that you wanted to be present on your custom shop guitar, the dedicated team of inlay artists at Martin are able to bring any idea or concept to life.
- Necks - Choose what shape and size of your neck that is most comfortable and inviting along with the tonewood that best suits your fancy
As Martin Custom Shop experts we will assist you in every stage of the custom building process including answering all of your questions, getting a quote, keeping you up to date on your guitar's progress, and delivering your guitar. Once this is all gone through and discussed in depth to assure they are the specs you are set on. We submit the order with Martin and your guitar goes into production!
