Martin DSS-16E Cherry Cola Acoustic Electric (s/n:3097060)! Guitar comes with Martin GigBag!

The Martin DSS-16E Cherry Cola brings something a little different to Martin's 16 Series. It has the familiar look and warmth of a slope-shoulder dreadnought, but with a shorter scale length that makes it especially comfortable to play. Add the deep Cherry Cola finish, and you've got a Martin that stands apart without losing the traditional character that makes these guitars so appealing.

The solid spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides give this guitar a warm, woody sound with strong midrange, clear highs, and a bass response that doesn't overpower everything else. Martin's forward-shifted, scalloped X-bracing helps the top respond freely, whether you're digging into rhythm chords or playing with a lighter touch.

One feature that really sets this model apart is the 24.9" scale length. Most Martin dreadnoughts have a longer 25.4" scale, so the shorter scale on the DSS-16E gives the strings a slightly softer feel at the same pitch and gauge. Combined with the Modified Low Oval neck and High-Performance Taper, it's an easy guitar to settle into.

The Cherry Cola gloss top looks especially good against the dark mahogany back and sides, while the grained ivoroid pickguard, ebony fingerboard, and nickel open-gear tuners give it a tasteful vintage appearance. Martin also equips this guitar with the L.R. Baggs Element pickup system, making it a natural choice for players who need a dependable acoustic sound through an amplifier or PA.

Here at Northeast Music Center, we're particularly fond of Martins that bring something different to the lineup. The DSS-16E does exactly that. It has the warmth and familiarity of a traditional mahogany dreadnought, but its shorter scale and slope-shoulder body give it a personality all its own.

Why Buy Your Martin from Northeast Music Center?

Buying a Martin should be more than just ordering a guitar from a website. You should know that the people you're purchasing from understand the instrument and will be there if you need anything down the road.

Northeast Music Center has spent years building a close relationship with C.F. Martin & Co. Our proximity to the Martin factory allows us to work directly with the company, personally select woods for special instruments, and stay closely connected to the guitars we sell.

We're also an Authorized Martin Repair Center, with experienced luthiers on staff who understand Martin construction, setup, and long-term care. Every guitar deserves proper attention before it reaches its new owner, and that's something we take seriously.

Most importantly, we believe in helping customers find the right guitar, not simply making a sale. Whether you're purchasing your first American-made Martin or adding another one to your collection, you'll receive the same personal attention from our staff.

That's the kind of experience we've built Northeast Music Center around.
