Product Description:

Every once in a while, a Wood Library guitar comes along that perfectly captures why we love working with PRS. This PRS Custom 24-08 Fatback Wood Library in Aquableux is one of those instruments. Between its beautifully figured 10-Top quilted maple, distinctive Aquableux finish, and carefully selected appointments, this is a Custom 24-08 that offers something special both visually and musically.

The first thing that catches your attention is the quilted maple top. The deep, flowing figure takes on a remarkable three-dimensional appearance beneath the Aquableux finish, with shades of blue that accentuate the natural movement of the wood. The natural back provides a beautiful contrast, while the Smoked Black hardware, black pickup rings, switch tip, and tuner buttons give the entire instrument a cohesive, modern appearance.

But this guitar is about considerably more than its looks.

The Fatback construction gives this Custom 24-08 a thicker, McCarty-style body profile, adding a little extra substance to the instrument's feel and tonal character. Paired with the mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard, it creates a compelling combination of warmth, resonance, clarity, and articulation. The Pattern Thin neck profile keeps everything comfortable and familiar, particularly for players who enjoy the fast, effortless feel of a traditional Custom 24.

The ebony fingerboard is complemented by PRS J-Bird inlays featuring Green Select Abalone outlines and Paua centers. It's a beautiful combination that adds just the right amount of visual detail without competing with the dramatic quilted maple top.

Electronics are another area where this guitar really shines. A pair of PRS TCI pickups delivers the clarity, balance, and dynamic response that make the Custom 24-08 such a versatile instrument. The familiar volume and tone controls work alongside a three-way toggle selector and two mini-toggle switches, allowing players to access eight pickup configurations. From full, articulate humbucker tones to brighter, more focused single-coil-style sounds, this guitar covers an impressive amount of musical territory without sacrificing its fundamental character.

The PRS Gen III tremolo provides smooth, expressive vibrato performance, while the Smoked Black hardware completes the guitar's distinctive appearance.

At Northeast Music Center, our extensive experience with the PRS Wood Library program has given us the opportunity to work with some truly remarkable instruments. We appreciate the details that separate a special Wood Library build from a standard production guitar, and this Aquableux Custom 24-08 is a great example of what makes the program so appealing.

The combination of the Fatback body, quilted 10-Top, ebony fingerboard, TCI electronics, and carefully coordinated appointments makes this a particularly interesting Custom 24-08 for players who want something beyond the ordinary.

For more than 30 years, Jack Gretz has worked with PRS guitars, and that experience continues to shape the instruments we offer at Northeast Music Center. We understand that choosing a Wood Library guitar is a personal decision, and we're always happy to discuss the details that make each build unique.
