Red Tiger on a PRS 10 Top

Red Tiger is one of those finishes that immediately explains why PRS figured maple has developed such a following.

The 10 Top Flame Maple selected for this Wood Library build has the strong, consistent figuring needed to make a finish like Red Tiger work. Rich red coloration interacts with the darker definition in the flame, creating the three-dimensional movement players and collectors look for in a great PRS top.

Move the guitar under different lighting and the figure changes with it. Some angles emphasize the darker tiger-striping effect; others bring forward the brighter red running through the maple.

The McCarty III pickups provide full, articulate humbucker voices with excellent clarity and dynamic response.

Pull either tone control and that pickup can access its alternate tapped voice independently. You can run both pickups as humbuckers, both tapped, or combine a full humbucker with the tapped voice of the other pickup.

It's a highly usable system that provides substantial tonal flexibility without making the guitar complicated to operate.

Wood Library Appointments

The Pattern Vintage mahogany neck is paired with a bound East Indian rosewood fretboard, maintaining the traditional tonal foundation of the McCarty platform.

PRS then adds a beautiful set of Outline Old School Bird inlays with Sparkle Mother-of-Pearl outlines and Pink Heart centers.
