RED TIGER 10 TOP FLAME MAPLE

Red Tiger and highly figured Flame Maple are a natural combination.

The finish accentuates the alternating light and dark figure running through this 10 Top Flame Maple, creating the depth and movement that make a great PRS top so captivating in person. Change the viewing angle or lighting and the character of the figure changes with it.

Turn the guitar over and the presentation changes completely.

The natural mahogany back provides a beautiful organic contrast to the intensity of the Red Tiger top while allowing the underlying mahogany to remain completely visible.

Then the stained Flame Maple neck ties the entire visual package together.

STAINED FLAME MAPLE NECK

This is one of our favorite specifications on this particular Wood Library build.

Rather than using the traditional mahogany neck associated with the McCarty platform, PRS built this instrument with a Flame Maple neck stained to complement the Red Tiger top.

The figure continues visually beyond the body and gives the guitar an unmistakably custom appearance from virtually every angle.

More importantly, this isn't simply cosmetic. Changing from mahogany to maple changes an important part of the guitar's fundamental tonewood recipe, giving this particular McCarty Trem its own personality within the broader McCarty family.

That's what Wood Library should be about.

BOUND ZIRICOTE FRETBOARD

The neck is paired with a bound Ziricote fretboard, adding another exotic component to an already impressive wood selection.

Ziricote is immediately recognizable for its dark coloration and dramatic natural grain. Against the stained Flame Maple neck, it provides a beautiful visual contrast, while the binding gives the entire fretboard a clean, refined appearance.

And then PRS took the inlays considerably further.

OLD SCHOOL BIRDS – SPARKLE MOP / PINK HEART

The fretboard features Outline Old School Birds with Sparkle Mother-of-Pearl outlines and Pink Heart centers.

Against the dark Ziricote board, the Mother-of-Pearl catches the light beautifully while the Pink Heart centers provide a subtle connection to the rich coloration of the Red Tiger finish.

It's distinctive without becoming excessive.

These are the small details that separate a thoughtfully specified Wood Library instrument from a standard-production guitar.

McCARTY III TREBLE & BASS PICKUPS

At the heart of this guitar are PRS McCarty III Treble and Bass pickups.

The McCarty III pickups are designed around musical dynamics, clarity and vintage-inspired character rather than simply chasing output. That makes them an excellent match for an instrument with such an interesting combination of woods.

The goal is to hear the guitar.

From clear, dimensional clean tones to edge-of-breakup rhythm sounds and expressive overdriven leads, the McCarty III T & B set allows the character and response of this Wood Library build to remain part of the equation.

McCarty III Pickups with 408 Switching
The McCarty III Treble & Bass pickups are paired with PRS 408-style switching, including a traditional 3-way pickup selector plus two individual mini-toggle switches. This expanded control layout gives the player independent switching options for each pickup while retaining the familiar Volume and Push/Pull Tone controls.

GEN III TREMOLO

The PRS Gen III Tremolo adds the expressive capabilities that distinguish the McCarty Trem from its fixed-bridge relatives.

PRS tremolo systems have earned an outstanding reputation for their smooth feel, precise engineering and tuning stability. The Gen III system allows everything from subtle chord movement and expressive vibrato to more dramatic pitch manipulation while feeling completely integrated into the instrument.

For players who love the fundamental character of the McCarty platform but want the expressive freedom of a tremolo, this combination makes tremendous sense.

HYBRID HARDWARE

The Hybrid Hardware provides the finishing touch.

By combining nickel and gold hardware elements, PRS gives the instrument another subtle level of visual sophistication. Against the Red Tiger top, natural mahogany back and stained Flame Maple neck, the Hybrid Hardware looks upscale without distracting from the woods themselves.

It's one more detail that tells you immediately this isn't an ordinary production guitar.

MADE IN MARYLAND, USA

This McCarty Trem Wood Library is proudly made in Stevensville, Maryland, USA, by the craftspeople at Paul Reed Smith Guitars.

That distinction is important.

Wood Library gives select PRS dealers the opportunity to create special combinations of woods, finishes, inlays and appointments within the premium Maryland-built PRS platform.

At Northeast Music Center, we approach these builds with a simple philosophy: different isn't enough.

The specifications need to make sense together.

We want the top, neck, fretboard, finish, electronics and hardware to create an instrument that feels cohesive—something we'd be genuinely excited to own ourselves.

S/N 0430795 / WL 02830 is exactly that kind of guitar.

PRS D1 MOLDED HARDSHELL CASE INCLUDED

This special Wood Library McCarty Trem comes complete with a PRS D1 Molded Hardshell Case, providing serious protection for transportation and storage.

An instrument of this caliber deserves the proper case, and it's included.

A WOOD LIBRARY GUITAR BUILT TO BE PLAYED

There's plenty here for a PRS collector to appreciate.

But what makes this guitar especially compelling is that underneath all of the exotic woods and custom appointments is a specification designed for a player.

The 10 Top Flame Maple, stained Flame Maple neck, bound Ziricote fretboard and custom Old School Bird inlays make it extraordinary to look at.

The McCarty III T & B pickups, push-pull electronics, Gen III Tremolo and Hybrid Hardware make it an incredibly compelling instrument to actually own and play.

That's the balance we look for in our Wood Library guitars.

For the serious PRS player or collector searching nationally for something well beyond an ordinary production instrument, Northeast Music Center is proud to offer this exceptional Maryland-made McCarty Trem Wood Library.
