The PRS SE Custom 24-08 in Charcoal Burst takes the unmistakable Custom 24 formula and expands it into one of the most versatile guitars in the SE lineup.

A maple top with flame maple veneer sits over a mahogany back, while the 24-fret Wide Thin maple neck, rosewood fretboard, 25" scale and PRS Bird inlays deliver the familiar feel and visual identity of the Custom family.

Then PRS adds the feature that makes the 24-08 different: TCI “S” Treble and Bass pickups with two independent mini-toggle coil taps, giving you eight distinct pickup configurations from full humbuckers to clear single-coil voices—and several combinations in between.

Eight Sounds – Simple Controls

The electronics are what turn the SE Custom 24-08 into something much more flexible than a conventional two-humbucker guitar.

Each TCI “S” humbucker has its own mini-toggle coil tap. That means the bridge and neck pickups can be switched independently between humbucker and single-coil operation.

Combined with the 3-way toggle, that creates eight configurations:

That's the beauty of the 24-08 concept: 24 frets and 8 pickup configurations.

You don't need a complicated control layout to get there. Select the pickup combination you want, then use the two mini toggles to choose full humbucker or tapped single-coil operation.

PRS TCI “S” Pickups

The TCI “S” pickups were designed specifically to make this expanded switching system musically useful.

In full humbucker mode, they deliver the fullness, clarity and authority expected from a PRS dual-humbucker guitar.

Tap either pickup and the response becomes brighter and more articulate, opening the door to clean rhythm work, funk, pop, blues, country and layered studio sounds that can be difficult to reach with a conventional Custom 24 setup.

You can even leave one pickup as a full humbucker while tapping the other, creating useful hybrid combinations with two distinctly different pickup characters working together.

For gigging players in particular, that's a tremendous amount of versatility from one guitar.

Charcoal Burst

The Charcoal Burst finish gives this 24-08 a completely different personality from the brighter Lake Blue version.

Dark outer edges frame the figuring of the flame maple veneer, creating a dramatic transition across the carved maple top. Against the mahogany back, rosewood fretboard, PRS Birds and nickel hardware, Charcoal Burst gives the guitar a modern, understated appearance that still lets the maple figuring do the talking.

It's one of those finishes that fits the Custom 24 shape exceptionally well.

Wide Thin – 24 Frets – 25" Scale

The Wide Thin maple neck is designed for players who prefer a faster, streamlined PRS neck profile.

A 25" scale length sits between traditional shorter- and longer-scale electric designs, while the 10" radius rosewood fretboard and 24-fret layout provide a comfortable platform for everything from rhythm work and large chords to bends and technical lead playing.

The 24-fret neck also positions the neck pickup differently than on a 22-fret guitar, contributing to the distinctive response that has always been part of the Custom 24 formula.

PRS Tremolo & Wing Button Tuners

The PRS Patented Tremolo provides smooth pitch control while maintaining the tonal transfer and tuning stability expected from the PRS design.

At the headstock, PRS-Designed Tuners with Wing Buttons provide precise tuning and give the SE Custom 24-08 a touch of the modern PRS Wing-button aesthetic.
