Taylor 112ce-N Nylon Acoustic/Electric Guitar (s/n: 6492)! Guitar Comes with Taylor GigBag!
The Taylor 112ce-N brings something genuinely different to the 100 Series: the warmth and expressive character of nylon strings with the comfortable, approachable feel Taylor players already know.
Built around a compact 12-fret Grand Concert body, this 112ce-N pairs a solid torrefied spruce top with layered sapele back and sides, specialized nylon-string bracing and a comfortable 1-7/8" nut width. The result is an acoustic-electric that's beautifully suited to fingerstyle playing while remaining far more approachable for steel-string and electric players than many traditional classical guitars.
At Northeast Music Center, we think that's the real appeal of the 112ce-N. You don't need to be a classical guitarist to fall in love with nylon strings.

NYLON STRINGS — WITHOUT THE TRADITIONAL CLASSICAL-GUITAR LEARNING CURVE
For many steel-string and electric guitarists, the sound of a nylon-string guitar is incredibly appealing.
The traditional classical-guitar neck isn't always as inviting.
That's where the 112ce-N becomes particularly interesting.
Taylor uses a 1-7/8" nut width, giving the strings additional spacing that's excellent for fingerstyle playing while remaining narrower and more approachable than many traditional classical guitar necks.
The Standard Carve neck profile and 25-1/2" scale length further contribute to a playing experience that feels unmistakably Taylor.
If you've spent years playing steel-string acoustic or electric guitar and have always wanted to explore nylon-string textures, this is an exceptionally comfortable place to start.
SOLID TORREFIED SPRUCE
The 112ce-N features a solid torrefied spruce top, bringing clarity and definition to the naturally warm character of nylon strings.
Taylor's torrefaction process carefully heat-treats the spruce to introduce additional warmth, depth and some of the played-in sweetness normally associated with a more mature soundboard.
That combination works beautifully here.
Individual notes have definition without becoming sharp. Chords retain warmth while remaining articulate, and the guitar responds particularly well to the lighter touch associated with fingerstyle playing.
Layered sapele back and sides provide a durable, stable foundation while helping keep the 112ce-N accessible.
12-FRET GRAND CONCERT
The compact Grand Concert body is an excellent match for a nylon-string Taylor.
Its smaller dimensions sit comfortably against the player, while the 12-fret neck configuration places the bridge in a position that complements the guitar's warm, responsive personality.
Taylor voices the 112ce-N with specialized fan-style internal bracing designed specifically for nylon strings, helping produce a clear and responsive voice that reacts beautifully to subtle changes in touch.
The Venetian cutaway provides access farther up the fingerboard, giving contemporary players considerably more freedom than they might expect from a traditional nylon-string design.
A DIFFERENT COLOR FOR YOUR MUSICAL PALETTE
You don't have to play classical music to need a nylon-string guitar.
That's worth emphasizing.
The 112ce-N can add an entirely different texture to songwriting, jazz, pop, folk, Latin music, fingerstyle arrangements, recording sessions and acoustic performances.
The softer attack and warmer character of nylon strings can make familiar chord voicings sound completely different.
Songs you've played for years can suddenly inspire new arrangements.
Sometimes adding a new instrument isn't about replacing the guitars you already own.
It's about discovering sounds they can't make.
TAYLOR ES-N ELECTRONICS
When it's time to plug in, the 112ce-N features Taylor's ES-N electronics, designed specifically for the response and character of nylon strings.
That gives the guitar practical versatility beyond playing at home, making it suitable for rehearsals, recording and live performance without requiring an aftermarket pickup installation.
For the performing musician who wants nylon-string character alongside familiar Taylor playability, that makes the 112ce-N an especially useful instrument.
CLEAN, PURPOSEFUL APPOINTMENTS
Taylor keeps the 112ce-N visually understated.
The natural matte finish allows the torrefied spruce top to remain the focus, complemented by black body binding, a white three-ring rosette, classic 4mm dot inlays and a traditional slotted peghead with classical nickel tuners.
The result bridges contemporary Taylor design and traditional nylon-string aesthetics without trying too hard to be either one.

WHY THE 112ce-N MATTERS
The 112ce-N isn't simply a 112ce with nylon strings.
Its 12-fret configuration, wider nut, nylon-specific bracing, slotted peghead and dedicated electronics make it an instrument designed around an entirely different playing experience.
Yet Taylor has managed to retain something equally important:
Approachability.
For the traditional nylon-string player, it's a modern and comfortable interpretation of a familiar idea.
For the steel-string player, it's an invitation into an entirely different world of tone without requiring an unfamiliar classical-guitar experience.
And for the songwriter or recording musician, it's another voice—one capable of taking a familiar piece of music somewhere completely new.
