Taylor 322e 12-Fret Grand Concert Acoustic/Electric Guitar! Guitar comes with Taylor Hardshell Case!
Some acoustic guitars are designed to produce sparkle and harmonic complexity.
The Taylor 322e 12-Fret takes a different path.
Built with an all-solid mahogany body, compact Grand Concert shape, 12-fret neck joint, 24-7/8" short scale and Taylor V-Class bracing, the 322e 12-Fret produces a warm, woody and beautifully focused acoustic voice that puts the fundamental note at the center of the music.
There's less emphasis on shimmering overtones and more emphasis on body, midrange presence and note-to-note definition.
Combine that tonal personality with the relaxed feel of Taylor's 12-fret architecture and you have an acoustic that can be exceptionally rewarding for fingerstyle playing, songwriting, recording and musicians who simply prefer a warmer, more intimate guitar.
At Northeast Music Center, we see the 322e 12-Fret as one of those instruments that rewards the player who listens closely. It doesn't overwhelm you with excess—it draws you into the music.

ALL-SOLID MAHOGANY — A DIFFERENT KIND OF ACOUSTIC VOICE
The defining characteristic of the 322e 12-Fret is its all-solid mahogany construction.
Using mahogany for the top as well as the back and sides creates a distinctly different response from the more familiar spruce-topped acoustic.
Spruce tends to emphasize dynamic range, projection and upper-frequency complexity.
Mahogany brings the focus inward.
The sound is warm, woody, dry and fundamental-forward, with a strong midrange presence and fewer competing overtones surrounding each note.
That makes the 322e particularly interesting for players who value clarity in a different sense—not brightness, but the ability to hear the core of every note.
There's a natural compression and directness to the response that works beautifully with fingerstyle playing, blues, roots music and songwriting.
And in a recording environment, that focused voice can be especially useful.
THE BEAUTY OF A 12-FRET DESIGN
The 12-fret configuration is much more than a vintage-inspired design choice.
Moving the neck-to-body joint to the 12th fret changes the physical relationship between the player, neck, bridge and body.
Taylor combines that architecture with a 24-7/8" scale length, creating a softer and more relaxed feel beneath the fretting hand than a typical full-scale acoustic.
Complex chords feel approachable.
Fingerstyle passages flow naturally.
Bends require less resistance.
And the compact Grand Concert body sits comfortably against the player.
The effect is subtle on a specification sheet.
In your hands, it can be dramatic.
GRAND CONCERT — INTIMATE BY DESIGN
Taylor's Grand Concert body is an ideal partner for this guitar's tonal personality.
Rather than trying to generate the massive low-frequency response of a Dreadnought, the smaller Grand Concert emphasizes balance, articulation and responsiveness.
It reacts quickly to a lighter touch, which makes it particularly appealing to fingerstyle players and musicians with a more nuanced right-hand technique.
The non-cutaway body reinforces the traditional, understated character of the instrument.
Nothing here feels unnecessary.
It's a compact acoustic built around the relationship between wood, hands and music.
V-CLASS BRACING
Inside the 322e 12-Fret, Taylor's V-Class bracing helps give the compact body greater sustain, projection and musical authority.
That becomes particularly interesting when paired with mahogany.
Mahogany naturally produces a controlled, focused voice. V-Class helps give that fundamental-rich character the sustain and presence necessary to keep the guitar from feeling overly restrained.
The combination gives notes a strong center while allowing them to remain alive and musical.
For recording, that's a particularly useful quality.
You get definition without excessive harmonic clutter.
A GUITAR THAT LEAVES ROOM FOR THE MUSIC
One of the great strengths of an all-mahogany acoustic is what it doesn't do.
It doesn't fill every available frequency with overtones.
It doesn't force excessive brightness into an arrangement.
It doesn't compete unnecessarily with the voice.
Instead, the 322e 12-Fret produces a strong, focused acoustic foundation that leaves room around the notes.
For a singer-songwriter, that can be incredibly valuable.
For a recording engineer, it can make the guitar easier to place in a mix.
And for the player sitting alone with the instrument, it creates a wonderfully intimate experience.
Sometimes more harmonic information isn't better.
Sometimes the beauty is in the space between the notes.
SLOTTED PEGHEAD — TRADITIONAL CHARACTER
The slotted peghead is a natural visual complement to the 12-fret design.
It gives the 322e an understated, traditional personality that immediately separates it from Taylor's more contemporary Grand Auditorium models.
Combined with the dark mahogany body, ebony appointments and restrained detailing, the result is an instrument that looks purposeful rather than ornamental.
It's a guitar whose visual personality reflects its voice:
warm, understated and confident.
TAYLOR EXPRESSION SYSTEM 2
The intimate acoustic personality of the 322e 12-Fret doesn't prevent it from being a capable performance instrument.
Taylor's Expression System 2 electronics provide an integrated solution for amplification, allowing the guitar to move easily from home or studio into an acoustic amplifier or PA.
That makes the 322e useful for singer-songwriters and fingerstyle performers who want the same guitar for writing, recording and live performance.

WHY THE 322e 12-FRET MATTERS
The 322e 12-Fret isn't simply another variation on the Taylor acoustic formula.
It offers a genuinely different experience.
The all-solid mahogany construction changes the voice.
The Grand Concert body changes the physical relationship with the instrument.
The 12-fret neck joint and 24-7/8" scale change the feel.
The non-cutaway body and slotted peghead give it a traditional personality.
And V-Class bracing brings modern Taylor engineering into that more intimate design.
Put everything together and you have an acoustic for the player who isn't necessarily searching for more.
They're searching for connection, warmth and character.
THE NORTHEAST MUSIC CENTER PERSPECTIVE
At Northeast Music Center, we believe the 322e 12-Fret makes the most sense when you stop comparing specifications and simply listen to what the guitar is trying to do.
This isn't the Taylor we'd necessarily choose for someone whose first priority is huge projection and brilliant top-end sparkle.
That's not its mission.
The 322e 12-Fret is for the player who hears beauty in a warm midrange, woody attack, strong fundamental and controlled harmonic response.
It's especially compelling for fingerstyle musicians, singer-songwriters, recording players and anyone who appreciates the physical comfort of a short-scale 12-fret acoustic.
If you're comparing it with the 312ce 12-Fret, the distinction becomes particularly useful: the spruce-and-sapele 312ce offers greater brightness and tonal breadth, while the all-mahogany 322e brings you toward a warmer, drier and more focused voice.
As an authorized Taylor dealer, Northeast Music Center can help you understand those differences and choose the Taylor that actually complements the way you play.
The Taylor 322e 12-Fret Grand Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar is available from Northeast Music Center and includes its Taylor Hardshell Case.
