Like any other music store, we see a lot of inventory make it's way though our doors. Against those numbers, a piece needs to be truly remarkable to stand out. Mesa Boogie's Fillmore amplifiers do just that. An exceptionally tight response is given to players that demo all styles in the store, from cascading fingerpicking to the machine gun rhythms of heavy metal.  The Fillmore 50 gives you precisely what you put into it.

MESA/Boogie Fillmore 50 1x12 Combo Amplifier – Blue Bronco w/ Cream & Tan Grille

Vintage-inspired Boogie tone, exceptional touch sensitivity, and a custom finish that makes this Fillmore 50 every bit as distinctive visually as it is musically. Finished in Blue Bronco with a Cream & Tan grille and loaded with a UK-built Celestion Custom 90, this all-tube 1x12 delivers everything from dimensional cleans and edge-of-breakup warmth to expressive overdrive and saturated lead tones.

The MESA/Boogie Fillmore 50 represents a very different side of the Boogie family.

Where amplifiers such as the Rectifier and Badlander are known for aggression and high-gain authority, the Fillmore looks toward the vintage side of electric guitar tone—warm, responsive, dynamic, harmonically rich, and exceptionally sensitive to the player.

And this particular Fillmore makes an immediate impression before you play the first note.

Blue Bronco. Cream & Tan grille.

It's a beautiful custom MESA configuration that gives the amplifier genuine personality while retaining the understated vintage aesthetic that suits the Fillmore so well.

Inside is something equally important:

A UK-built Celestion Custom 90 speaker.

Available from Northeast Music Center, this Fillmore 50 is for the guitarist who wants an amplifier that responds to the guitar, the controls, and most importantly, the hands playing it.

THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BOOGIE FAMILY TREE

The Fillmore deserves to be understood on its own terms.

This isn't a Rectifier with less gain.

It isn't a Mark Series amplifier simplified into a vintage-looking cabinet.

The Fillmore was conceived around a different philosophy: expressive gain, touch sensitivity, organic response, and the ability to move naturally from clean through overdrive into saturation. MESA itself describes the Fillmore as coming from the "other branch" of the Boogie family tree.

That's exactly what makes it special.

Play lightly and the amplifier responds.

Dig in and it pushes back.

Roll the guitar volume down and the tone cleans up.

Change pickups and you hear the difference.

The Fillmore rewards the relationship between guitar, amplifier, and player.

TWO IDENTICAL CHANNELS — CLEAN, DRIVE OR HI ON EITHER ONE

One of the smartest aspects of the Fillmore is its Channel Cloning™ architecture.

Both channels offer:

CLEAN

DRIVE

HI

And both channels provide their own:

Gain / Treble / Mid / Bass / Presence / Reverb / Master

That means Channel 1 isn't permanently assigned to clean while Channel 2 handles overdrive.

You build the amplifier around the way you play.

Try:

Channel 1 – Clean / Channel 2 – Drive

Or:

Channel 1 – Clean / Channel 2 – HI

Or:

Channel 1 – Drive Rhythm / Channel 2 – Drive Lead

You can even configure two differently voiced clean channels or two differently dialed high-gain channels.

It's a deceptively simple control layout with tremendous flexibility underneath it.

CLEAN — WHERE THE FILLMORE STARTS TO SHOW ITS PERSONALITY

The Fillmore's Clean mode is not simply there because every amplifier needs a clean channel.

It's fundamental to the design.

There's fullness, dimensionality, clarity, and the dynamic response needed for players who work extensively with their guitar's controls and picking attack.

Turn the gain up and the clean sound can begin moving naturally toward edge-of-breakup territory.

Back off your guitar volume and it responds.

Push harder and the amplifier gives you more.

For blues, country, roots music, classic rock, Americana, jazz-influenced playing, pedal platforms, or simply a great expressive clean sound, there's a lot to explore before you ever switch modes.

DRIVE — THE HEART OF THE FILLMORE

Drive may be where many players fall in love with this amplifier.

Rather than approaching overdrive as a dramatic jump from clean to distortion, the Fillmore allows gain to build organically.

There's warmth.

There's texture.

There's harmonic richness.

And importantly, there's still space around the notes.

Chords retain character.

Single notes respond to your touch.

The amplifier doesn't immediately compress everything into the same sound.

For blues, classic rock, roots rock, alternative, and expressive lead playing, Drive covers enormous territory.

HI — MORE GAIN WITHOUT LOSING THE PLAYER

Need more?

That's what HI is for.

HI takes the Fillmore further into saturated overdrive and lead territory while retaining the responsive character that defines the amplifier.

This isn't designed around the hyper-tight aggression of a Badlander or Rectifier.

It's a different kind of gain.

More vintage-inspired.

More elastic.

More expressive.

And particularly rewarding for players who want saturation that still reacts to dynamics and guitar-volume changes.

THE CELESTION CUSTOM 90 MATTERS

The Fillmore 50 Combo is loaded with a UK-built Celestion Custom 90, commonly known as the C90, with an 8-ohm load.

That's an important part of the amplifier.

The C90 gives the Fillmore enough headroom and authority to reproduce its clean sounds beautifully while still delivering the body, midrange complexity, and projection required as the amplifier moves into Drive and HI.

A great combo amplifier is a complete system.

The circuit matters.

The cabinet matters.

And the speaker absolutely matters.

That's why we want customers shopping at Northeast Music Center to know exactly what's inside before they ever plug in.

FULL POWER / HALF POWER — MORE THAN A VOLUME SWITCH

MESA's current specifications describe the Fillmore 50's power section more precisely than the model name alone suggests.

In Full Power, the two 6L6s operate in Class A/B Pentode and produce approximately 40 watts clean / 60 watts maximum.

Switch to Half Power and those same two tubes operate in Class A/B Triode at approximately 20 watts clean / 28 watts maximum.

So this isn't simply:

Full = Loud

Half = Quiet

The power-section configuration changes as well.

Full Power emphasizes maximum punch and clarity.

Half Power offers a sweeter, more harmonically rich response with lower available output.

That makes the switch useful for changing feel, not merely volume.

REAL LONG-TANK SPRING REVERB

The Fillmore includes something increasingly special in modern guitar amplification:

Vintage all-tube, long-tank spring reverb.

And each channel gets its own independent Reverb control.

That means your clean sound can have a spacious wash while your overdriven channel remains comparatively dry.

Or reverse it.

Again, the Fillmore gives you flexibility without making the amplifier complicated.

The reverb feels appropriate to the entire personality of the amp—organic, dimensional, and musical.

BUILT FOR PEDALS TOO

There's another side to the Fillmore that shouldn't be overlooked.

Its responsive clean and lower-gain sounds make it an excellent foundation for pedals.

Overdrives.

Boosts.

Fuzz.

Delay.

Modulation.

Reverb.

And because MESA includes a fully buffered Series Effects Loop, time-based effects can also be placed after the amplifier's preamp when that's the preferred setup.

That makes the Fillmore equally attractive to the guitarist who wants most of the sound from the amplifier and the player who has spent years building a carefully curated pedalboard.

BLUE BRONCO WITH CREAM & TAN GRILLE

Then there's this particular amplifier.

Blue Bronco with Cream & Tan grille.

The Fillmore already carries a distinctly vintage-inspired visual personality, and this custom combination enhances it beautifully.

The Blue Bronco gives the amplifier enough color to immediately stand apart from the standard black combo without becoming excessive.

The Cream & Tan grille provides the perfect contrast.

It's tasteful.

Distinctive.

And unmistakably custom MESA.

For the player who expects to own this amplifier for years, there's something appealing about having one that doesn't look exactly like every other Fillmore on stage.

45 POUNDS — A SERIOUS COMBO YOU CAN ACTUALLY MOVE

The Fillmore 50 weighs 45 lbs. and measures:

17⅞" High

22¾" Wide

10⅛" Deep

That's substantial enough to feel like a serious professional tube combo without turning every rehearsal or gig into a transportation problem.

And within that enclosure you're carrying:

Two 6L6s.

Five 12AX7s.

A Celestion C90.

Long-tank spring reverb.

Two complete channels.

Six total channel/mode possibilities.

Full/Half power.

Effects loop.

That's a lot of amplifier in a very usable package.

AN AMPLIFIER FOR THE PLAYER WHO WANTS TO BE HEARD

The Fillmore isn't trying to hide your playing.

That's part of its appeal.

It responds to dynamics.

It responds to guitar volume.

It responds to different pickups.

It responds to the way you attack the string.

For some guitarists, that's exactly what makes a great tube amplifier addictive.

At Northeast Music Center, we think the Fillmore 50 belongs on the shortlist for any player looking for a premium American-built tube combo that can move naturally from beautiful cleans through expressive overdrive and into saturated lead tones without losing its connection to the player.

And this Blue Bronco with Cream & Tan grille configuration makes an already special amplifier considerably more distinctive.

Two channels. Clean, Drive and HI on both. Two 6L6s. Celestion Custom 90. Long-tank tube spring reverb. Full/Half power. Blue Bronco. Cream & Tan grille.

Vintage-inspired Boogie tone with a personality all its own.
