MESA/Boogie Fillmore 50 1x12 Combo Amplifier – Wine Taurus w/ Tan Grille
Vintage-inspired MESA tone meets an exceptionally handsome custom finish. The MESA/Boogie Fillmore 50 combines two 6L6 power tubes, two identical channels with Clean, Drive and HI modes, genuine all-tube spring reverb, and a UK-built Celestion Custom 90 speaker—all wrapped in rich Wine Taurus with a contrasting Tan grille.
The MESA/Boogie Fillmore 50 represents a wonderfully different side of the Boogie family.
Rather than chasing extreme gain or complex switching, the Fillmore was designed around feel, dynamics, expressive overdrive and the natural relationship between the guitarist and the amplifier.
Play softly and it responds.
Dig into the strings and it pushes back.
Roll down your guitar volume and the sound cleans up naturally.
Push the Gain and the Fillmore moves from beautiful clean tones through edge-of-breakup warmth and into rich, harmonically complex saturation.
This custom Wine Taurus with Tan grille configuration gives an already distinctive amplifier an elegant visual personality worthy of its vintage-inspired voice.
Available from Northeast Music Center, this Fillmore 50 is an outstanding choice for the guitarist who wants a premium American-built tube combo that rewards touch, dynamics and musical expression.

A DIFFERENT BRANCH OF THE BOOGIE FAMILY TREE
MESA built its reputation around some of the most influential high-performance guitar amplifiers ever created.
But the Fillmore explores another side of that history.
This amplifier is about expressive gain rather than simply maximum gain.
MESA designed the Fillmore around vintage-inspired response, moving naturally from clean through soft clipping and into increasingly saturated overdrive.
That's an important distinction.
The Fillmore doesn't try to overpower the personality of the guitar or player.
Instead, it amplifies it.
Different pickups sound different.
Different guitars sound different.
Your picking attack matters.
Your guitar's volume control matters.
For players who enjoy actually working an amplifier from the instrument, the Fillmore can be tremendously rewarding.
TWO IDENTICAL CHANNELS — CLEAN, DRIVE OR HI
One of the Fillmore 50's smartest features is MESA's Channel Cloning™ architecture.
Both channels provide:
CLEAN
DRIVE
HI
And each channel has independent:
Gain
Treble
Mid
Bass
Presence
Reverb
Master
That gives you tremendous freedom without making the amplifier complicated.
You could configure:
Channel 1 — Clean / Channel 2 — Drive
for a traditional clean/overdrive setup.
Or:
Channel 1 — Clean / Channel 2 — HI
for greater contrast.
Or perhaps:
Channel 1 — Drive Rhythm / Channel 2 — Drive Lead
with different Gain, EQ, Reverb and Master settings.
You can even run two different Clean sounds.
The Fillmore doesn't decide how the channels should be used.
You do.
CLEAN — BEAUTIFUL, RESPONSIVE AND DIMENSIONAL
Clean mode is fundamental to the Fillmore's personality.
There's clarity and definition, but also warmth and body.
Increase the Gain and the amplifier begins moving naturally toward edge-of-breakup territory rather than abruptly becoming a different amplifier.
That's particularly appealing for blues, country, roots, Americana, classic rock, jazz-influenced playing and players who rely heavily on pedals.
But perhaps more importantly, Clean responds beautifully to the guitar itself.
A lighter touch stays clean.
Hit the strings harder and the amplifier begins to react.
That's the kind of interaction that makes a good tube amplifier difficult to put down.
DRIVE — WHERE THE FILLMORE REALLY OPENS UP
Drive takes that responsive clean foundation and pushes it naturally into overdrive.
There's warmth.
Harmonic complexity.
Texture.
And plenty of dynamic response.
The sound doesn't immediately collapse into excessive compression.
Chords retain personality.
Single notes remain expressive.
Your guitar's volume control continues to be useful.
This is exactly the kind of overdrive many players spend years trying to create with combinations of amplifiers and pedals.
With the Fillmore, it's built directly into the amplifier.
HI — MORE SATURATION, SAME MUSICAL FOUNDATION
When you need more gain, switch to HI.
HI pushes the Fillmore further into saturated rhythm and lead territory while retaining the amplifier's fundamental vintage-inspired personality.
It's not trying to become a Rectifier.
And it doesn't need to.
The gain remains expressive and harmonically rich, making HI particularly effective for singing lead tones, heavier classic-rock sounds and players who want additional saturation without losing touch sensitivity.
THE CELESTION CUSTOM 90 IS IMPORTANT
Inside the Fillmore 50 is a UK-built Celestion Custom 90, commonly known as the C90. MESA specifies the internal speaker/load at 8 ohms.
That's an important part of the complete amplifier.
The C90 gives the Fillmore enough power handling and headroom to reproduce its clean tones with authority while still providing the body and projection necessary as the amplifier moves into Drive and HI.
This is why we believe the speaker should be clearly identified in the Northeast Music Center listing.
A premium combo amplifier isn't simply an amplifier chassis with a speaker attached.
The speaker is part of the instrument.
FULL POWER / HALF POWER
The Fillmore 50's Full/Half Power switch does considerably more than simply make the amplifier louder or quieter.
At Full Power, its two 6L6 tubes operate in Class A/B Pentode, producing approximately 40 watts clean / 60 watts maximum.
Switch to Half Power and the two tubes operate in Class A/B Triode, producing approximately 20 watts clean / 28 watts maximum.
That means the switch also changes the amplifier's response.
FULL POWER
Greater punch, clarity and authority.
HALF POWER
Sweeter response, richer harmonics and a softer feel at reduced output.
It's another way of tailoring the amplifier to the room, guitar and style of music you're playing.
REAL ALL-TUBE SPRING REVERB
The Fillmore includes genuine all-tube spring reverb, with independent Reverb controls for each channel.
That independence is extremely useful.
You might want a spacious clean sound with considerably less reverb on your Drive channel.
Or perhaps the opposite.
Because the controls are independent, you're not forced into one global reverb setting.
And the character of real spring reverb fits the Fillmore beautifully.
Warm.
Dimensional.
Organic.
Exactly what you'd expect from an amplifier built around vintage inspiration.
A GREAT PEDAL PLATFORM
The Fillmore's clean headroom and responsive lower-gain sounds also make it an excellent foundation for pedals.
Overdrive.
Boost.
Fuzz.
Compression.
Modulation.
Delay.
Reverb.
And MESA includes a fully buffered Series Effects Loop for players who prefer to place time-based effects after the amplifier's preamp.
That makes the Fillmore equally attractive to two very different guitarists:
The player who wants most of the tone directly from the amplifier.
And the player who has spent years building a carefully selected pedalboard.
WINE TAURUS WITH TAN GRILLE
Then there's this particular Fillmore.
Wine Taurus.
Tan grille.
The deep Wine Taurus covering gives the amplifier a rich, sophisticated appearance that perfectly complements the Fillmore's vintage-inspired personality.
The lighter Tan grille provides contrast without making the amplifier visually excessive.
It's elegant.
Distinctive.
And unmistakably custom MESA.
This is exactly the type of amplifier we enjoy offering at Northeast Music Center—something that delivers exceptional performance while looking different from the standard black combo found on countless stages.
If you're going to own an amplifier for years, there's something special about owning one that feels like your amplifier before you even switch it on.
45 POUNDS — A REAL PROFESSIONAL TUBE COMBO
The Fillmore 50 weighs 45 lbs. and measures:
17⅞" High
22¾" Wide
10⅛" Deep.
Within that manageable enclosure you're getting:
Two 6L6s
Five 12AX7s
Celestion C90
Two independent channels
Six total mode possibilities
All-tube spring reverb
Full/Half power
Effects loop
That's an impressive amount of amplifier in a package that remains realistic for working musicians to transport.
HAND-WIRED IN PETALUMA, CALIFORNIA
MESA builds the Fillmore 50 in Petaluma, California, using an aluminum chassis and marine-grade Baltic birch cabinet construction.
At this level, that matters.
Customers aren't simply purchasing a wattage rating.
They're buying an amplifier designed to become part of their musical life.
That's something Northeast Music Center believes deserves to be communicated clearly.
AN AMPLIFIER THAT REWARDS THE PLAYER
The Fillmore 50 isn't about having the most switches.
It's not about having the most gain.
And it's not about creating hundreds of presets.
It's about something much more fundamental:
The relationship between your hands, your guitar and a great tube amplifier.
Clean responds to your touch.
Drive adds texture and harmonic complexity.
HI gives you additional saturation.
Full and Half Power change the response underneath your hands.
The C90 translates it all into the room.
And genuine spring reverb adds dimension without getting between you and the guitar.
At Northeast Music Center, that's what makes the Fillmore 50 special.
And dressed in Wine Taurus with a Tan grille, this one has the appearance to match its personality.
Two channels. Three modes per channel. Two 6L6s. Celestion C90. All-tube spring reverb. Wine Taurus.
A beautifully expressive side of MESA/Boogie.
