The D-800 was an important amplifier for MESA because it brought serious professional bass power into an exceptionally compact platform.

SIMPLE, POWERFUL TONE SHAPING

The D-800 doesn't overwhelm the player with controls.

Instead, MESA gives you the tools that matter.

The fully active 4-band EQ provides ±12dB of adjustment across Bass, Low-Mid, High-Mid, and Treble.

The two fixed midrange bands are particularly useful for shaping articulation, fullness, attack, and where the bass sits within a band mix.

There's also a dedicated Deep switch for players who want additional low-frequency weight and authority.

VARIABLE VOICING CONTROL

One of the D-800's signature features is its continuously variable Voicing control.

Turn it toward the flatter side for a more direct, natural presentation of your instrument.

Rotate it toward the other extreme and the response progressively moves toward a more dramatically scooped character with enhanced lows and highs.

This makes it easy to change the overall personality of the amplifier quickly while still retaining the precision of the 4-band EQ.

ACTIVE OR PASSIVE BASSES

A front-panel Active/Passive switch adjusts input headroom to accommodate different instruments.

Whether you're plugging in a traditional passive bass or a modern instrument with a powerful active preamp, the D-800 can be configured appropriately.

The Input Gain control also incorporates a clip indicator, making it easier to establish a strong input level without unintentionally overloading the preamp.

PROFESSIONAL BALANCED DI
