PRS Guitars Custom 24 Birds of a Feather Limited in Honey Gold (s/n: 0430902)! Guitar comes with PRS Black Paisley Hardshell Case
Some limited-edition guitars are special because of a color or appointment. The PRS Custom 24 “Birds of a Feather” Limited Edition in Honey Gold has something more meaningful behind it: it brings a remarkable Private Stock-born inlay design to the PRS Core Series for the first time, on the guitar that helped establish Paul Reed Smith Guitars in the first place.
Limited to just 360 instruments worldwide for 2026, this Custom 24 pairs an Artist Grade Figured Maple top with the warm, beautifully transparent character of Honey Gold. Its extraordinary Birds of a Feather fretboard treatment, DMO pickups, Pattern Thin neck, Gen III Tremolo and Phase III locking tuners create an instrument with serious appeal to both players and collectors.
Proudly made by PRS in Stevensville, Maryland, USA, this limited-edition Custom 24 comes complete with a premium PRS Black Paisley Hardshell Case.
This is exactly the kind of special Maryland-built PRS we're excited to offer at Northeast Music Center.

THE CUSTOM 24 – WHERE THE PRS STORY BEGAN
There couldn't be a more appropriate guitar for this limited edition.
The Custom 24 is the model most closely connected to the beginning of the PRS story. Its combination of a carved figured maple top, mahogany back, 24-fret neck, 25-inch scale and tremolo helped establish a distinctly PRS approach to the electric guitar—one that wasn't simply trying to recreate what had already been done.
More than four decades later, the Custom 24 remains one of the defining instruments in the PRS lineup.
The Birds of a Feather Limited Edition celebrates that legacy while introducing something previously associated with the highest levels of PRS production.
BIRDS OF A FEATHER – PRIVATE STOCK DESIGN COMES TO CORE
The centerpiece of this guitar is unquestionably its extraordinary Birds of a Feather fretboard inlay.
Designed by Paul Miles, PRS Director of Manufacturing and head of Private Stock, the Birds of a Feather concept originated approximately ten years ago and was previously available through the PRS Private Stock program.
For 2026, PRS brings the design to the Core Series for the first time.
Rather than treating each bird as an isolated inlay, the design uses contrasting woods and negative space to create a flowing composition across the fretboard. Individual birds become part of a larger visual pattern, producing a sense of movement as your eye travels along the neck.
PRS uses an especially interesting combination of Ebony and Figured Maple to bring the concept to life, allowing the woods themselves to become part of the artwork.
It's unmistakably PRS from across the room.
Look closer, and an entirely different level of craftsmanship reveals itself.
ARTIST GRADE FIGURED MAPLE – HONEY GOLD
Honey Gold gives this limited edition a completely different personality.
Where darker finishes create drama through contrast, Honey Gold allows the Artist Grade Figured Maple itself to do much of the talking.
The warm golden coloration accentuates the natural figure running through the carved maple top while preserving the depth and movement of the wood. Different lighting and viewing angles bring different areas of the figure forward, giving the top the dimensional character that makes exceptional PRS maple so captivating in person.
There's also something timeless about this combination.
Honey Gold has enough color to give the guitar a distinctive identity without hiding the material that makes an Artist Grade top special in the first place.
For the player or collector who loves seeing the wood, this may be one of the most appealing finishes in the Birds of a Feather collection.
DMO PICKUPS – DYNAMIC, MUSICAL, OPEN
The guitar is equipped with PRS DMO Treble and Bass pickups.
DMO—Dynamic, Musical, Open—describes the philosophy behind their voice: clarity, balance and responsiveness rather than simply chasing output.
That's especially appropriate for a Custom 24.
This is a guitar expected to cover tremendous musical ground, and the pickups need to remain articulate whether you're playing pristine cleans, pushing an amplifier toward breakup or moving into saturated lead tones.
The DMO pickups are paired with a Volume control, Tone control and 5-Way Blade pickup selector, providing a broad range of humbucking and single-coil-inspired sounds while keeping the interface intuitive.
It's the versatility players expect from a Custom 24, delivered through PRS's current generation of pickup design.
PATTERN THIN NECK – 25" SCALE – 24 FRETS
The Pattern Thin mahogany neck provides the fast, familiar feel many Custom 24 players prefer.
Its 25-inch scale length remains an essential part of the PRS identity, while the full 24-fret layout provides access across two complete octaves.
PRS specifies a 10-inch fretboard radius, approximately 53/64" neck depth at the 1/2 fret and 57/64" at the 12 1/2 fret, with a 1 11/16" nut width.
The result is comfortable, precise and unmistakably PRS.
GEN III TREMOLO & PHASE III LOCKING TUNERS
PRS equips the Birds of a Feather Limited Edition with its Patented Gen III Tremolo and Phase III Locking Tuners with Wing Buttons.
The Gen III Tremolo provides the smooth feel, precise operation and expressive range expected from a premium PRS tremolo system.
At the opposite end of the instrument, Phase III locking tuners provide quick string changes and excellent stability, while the Wing Buttons add another distinctive premium appointment.
Together, the bridge and tuners contribute to a system built around resonance, stability and expressive control.
ONLY 360 WORLDWIDE
This is where the Birds of a Feather Custom 24 becomes especially interesting for the collector.
Only 360 instruments will be produced worldwide in 2026.
That's a genuinely limited production number for a globally distributed Maryland-built PRS Core instrument.
But rarity alone isn't what makes this guitar interesting.
It's what PRS chose to make rare.
You have the company's defining Custom 24 platform, an Artist Grade Figured Maple top, a historically Private Stock-exclusive inlay concept, Ebony and Figured Maple fretboard construction, DMO pickups, Gen III Tremolo and premium Core hardware—all brought together in a production run of only 360 instruments.
There is substance behind the limited-edition designation.

A LIMITED EDITION WITH A REASON TO EXIST
The Birds of a Feather Limited Edition isn't simply another Custom 24 wearing a commemorative finish.
PRS took an inlay concept with genuine Private Stock history and brought it to the Core Series for the first time. They paired it with Artist Grade figured maple, DMO pickups, premium hardware and the guitar design most closely associated with the beginning of PRS itself.
And in Honey Gold, the emphasis remains beautifully focused on the craftsmanship and natural materials.
The warm transparent finish lets the Artist Grade maple speak, while the Birds of a Feather fretboard provides the visual statement that makes this limited edition instantly recognizable.
