The PRS S2 Custom 24 Poplar Burl in Charcoal Burst takes one of Paul Reed Smith's most recognizable designs and gives it an unmistakably individual visual character. Poplar Burl Makes Every Guitar Individual

The centerpiece is unquestionably the Poplar Burl top.

Unlike the more uniform figuring associated with traditional flame or quilt maple, burl possesses an unpredictable, organic character. Swirls, clusters, grain patterns, and contrasting areas develop naturally within the wood, creating a top that can never be perfectly duplicated.

The Charcoal Burst finish is an excellent complement. Darker coloration around the perimeter frames the natural complexity of the burl while allowing its intricate figuring to remain the focal point. Depending on the angle and lighting, different sections of the grain emerge, giving the guitar remarkable visual depth.
