A Custom 24 with Another Dimension

At its core, this guitar retains the ingredients that have made the Custom 24 platform so successful.

The mahogany back provides warmth and body, while the maple top adds clarity and definition. A flame maple veneer gives the Orange Tiger Smokeburst finish its dramatic appearance, and the single F-hole immediately tells you this isn't an ordinary Custom 24.

The semi-hollow construction contributes an open, responsive character that works beautifully with both the magnetic pickups and piezo system.

The maple neck uses PRS's Wide Thin profile, paired with a rosewood fretboard, 10" radius, 24 frets, and PRS bird inlays. The 25" scale length delivers the familiar PRS combination of comfortable string tension and articulate response.

85/15 “S” Electric Tones

On the electric side, a pair of PRS 85/15 “S” humbuckers provides a broad tonal foundation.

These pickups are designed for clarity and extended high- and low-frequency response, allowing individual notes to remain defined whether you're playing clean, adding a little breakup, or pushing into higher-gain territory.

The 3-way blade gives you straightforward access to the bridge, bridge-and-neck, and neck pickup combinations.

Pull the tone control and the pickups are coil-tapped, opening the door to brighter, leaner textures that further expand the guitar's electric vocabulary.

But that's only half the story.

LR Baggs/PRS Piezo System

The integrated LR Baggs/PRS Piezo system gives this guitar an entirely different voice.

Rather than simply approximating an acoustic sound through magnetic pickups, the piezo system captures string response at the bridge and provides acoustic-style tones that can be blended with—or used independently from—the magnetic pickups.

The guitar features separate Piezo Volume and Magnetic Volume controls, allowing you to determine exactly how much of each voice you want.

Run primarily magnetic.

Run primarily piezo.

Or blend the two together to create layered sounds that aren't easily produced by a conventional electric guitar.

Two Outputs = Serious Live Flexibility

One of our favorite features at Northeast Music Center is the dual-output system.

Using the Mix/Piezo output, you can send both pickup systems through a single signal path and control their balance directly from the guitar.

For an even more sophisticated setup, use both outputs.

Send the 85/15 “S” magnetic pickups to your electric guitar amplifier, modeler, or pedalboard while simultaneously routing the piezo signal to an acoustic amplifier, DI, PA, or mixing console.

That means a player can move from a full electric sound to an acoustic-style passage—or blend the two—without changing guitars.

PRS also designed an intelligent failsafe into the system: when using the magnetic output by itself, the piezo battery is bypassed. Your magnetic pickups therefore remain functional even if the piezo battery becomes depleted.

PRS Patented Piezo Tremolo

The PRS Patented Piezo Tremolo integrates the piezo system into the familiar PRS tremolo platform, giving you acoustic-style capability without sacrificing the expressive benefits of a tremolo-equipped Custom 24.

Combined with the semi-hollow construction, magnetic pickups, coil-tapping, and piezo electronics, it contributes to an unusually complete instrument.
