PRS SE Hollowbody II Piezo – Peacock Blue Smokeburst (S/N: CTIH076592)

Includes PRS Padded Gig Bag

There are certain PRS finishes that immediately stop you in your tracks, and Peacock Blue Smokeburst is absolutely one of them.

But the beauty of this PRS SE Hollowbody II Piezo goes much deeper than its finish. With maple used for both the top and back, a mahogany middle section, ebony fretboard, 58/15 LT “S” humbuckers, and the LR Baggs/PRS Piezo system, this is a true hollowbody capable of moving from warm electric tones to convincing acoustic-style textures—and even blending the two together.

As a longtime PRS Signature Dealer, Northeast Music Center knows these guitars well. The SE Hollowbody II Piezo has remained popular for good reason: it gives players genuine hollowbody character, classic PRS playability, and an extraordinary amount of real-world versatility in one instrument.

Peacock Blue Smokeburst – This Finish Is a Stunner

Let's start with the obvious.

Peacock Blue Smokeburst looks incredible on a PRS Hollowbody II.

The rich blue coloration plays beautifully against the figuring of the maple, while the darker smokeburst perimeter frames the top and emphasizes the curves of the Hollowbody II design.

It's bold without becoming gaudy.

The ebony fretboard, PRS bird inlays and nickel hardware provide just enough contrast to complete the look.

For a guitar already known for its elegant lines, Peacock Blue Smokeburst gives this particular Hollowbody II Piezo an unmistakable personality.

Why the Hollowbody II Construction Matters

The Hollowbody II has a distinctly different construction recipe from the newer flatback Hollowbody I.

Here, PRS uses maple for both the top and back with mahogany through the middle section.

That maple-and-mahogany combination gives the Hollowbody II an articulate, lively response while preserving the openness and resonance that make a hollowbody so enjoyable to play.

There's a certain immediacy to the way these guitars respond—even unplugged, you can feel the instrument interacting with the strings.

Plug it in and that natural character becomes part of the electric voice.

58/15 LT “S” Humbuckers

The magnetic side of the Hollowbody II Piezo is powered by a pair of PRS 58/15 LT “S” humbuckers.

“LT” stands for Low Turn, and these pickups are designed to provide vintage-inspired warmth while maintaining the clarity and definition needed to let the character of the instrument come through.

The neck pickup can produce warm, rounded cleans, expressive blues tones, jazz textures and smooth lead sounds.

Move to the bridge and there's plenty of articulation for rhythm work, classic rock, overdrive and more focused lead playing.

The 3-way toggle keeps operation straightforward:

  • Bridge Pickup
  • Bridge + Neck Pickups
  • Neck Pickup

But that's only half of what this guitar can do.

LR Baggs/PRS Piezo System

The LR Baggs/PRS Piezo system gives the Hollowbody II Piezo an entirely different voice.

Six individual piezo-equipped saddles in the PRS Adjustable Piezo Stoptail capture string response directly from the bridge, producing acoustic-style tones that complement the natural resonance of the hollowbody construction beautifully.

Separate Magnetic Volume and Piezo Volume controls let you decide how much of each system you want.

Run the magnetic pickups by themselves.

Bring in the piezo for acoustic-style character.

Or blend both systems together and create sounds that neither pickup system produces on its own.

That ability is what transforms the Hollowbody II Piezo from a beautiful hollowbody electric into a serious performance instrument.

Two Outputs – Serious Live & Studio Flexibility

The dual-output design makes the piezo system even more useful.

Plug into the Mix/Piezo output and you can combine the magnetic pickups and piezo system into a single signal path, adjusting their balance directly from the guitar.

Or use both outputs simultaneously.

Send the 58/15 LT “S” magnetic pickups into your electric guitar amplifier, modeler or pedalboard while routing the piezo signal separately to an acoustic amplifier, DI, PA system or recording input.

One guitar can therefore feed two completely different rigs.

That's a major advantage for the working musician who needs electric and acoustic-style sounds during the same performance.

There's another smart feature built into the system: when the magnetic output is used by itself, the piezo battery is bypassed. Your magnetic pickups continue functioning even if the piezo battery is depleted.

Wide Fat Neck & Ebony Fretboard

The Wide Fat neck profile feels right at home on the Hollowbody II.

It has more substance than PRS's thinner neck shapes, giving the instrument a solid, confident feel in the hand without becoming cumbersome.

The 25" scale length maintains the familiar PRS balance of comfortable string tension and clear response, while the 10" radius ebony fretboard provides a smooth, precise playing surface.

With 22 frets and PRS bird inlays, the result feels unmistakably PRS.

For chord work, jazz voicings, blues, fingerstyle playing, rhythm work and expressive lead playing, this is an exceptionally comfortable platform.

Electric. Acoustic. Or Somewhere In Between.

That's what makes the PRS SE Hollowbody II Piezo such a useful instrument.

You aren't simply getting a hollowbody with an additional pickup.

The 58/15 LT “S” humbuckers provide a complete electric voice. The LR Baggs/PRS Piezo system provides an entirely different acoustic-style palette. Independent volume controls let you blend the two, while dual outputs allow each system to be routed to its own dedicated signal chain.

For the gigging musician, studio player, songwriter, worship player, jazz guitarist, or anyone who needs to move between electric and acoustic textures without constantly changing instruments, that versatility can be invaluable.

And then there's this particular guitar.

Peacock Blue Smokeburst over a figured maple Hollowbody II is simply gorgeous.
