Northeast Music Center is the largest Mesa/Boogie dealer in Northern America! We work hard to ensure players have the proper gear they need for playing and performing. The Mesa/Boogie Badlander is the latest out of the Rectifier series and lives true to it's family lineage. Paired with the 2x12 Recto cabinets loaded with UK Made Celestion Vintage 30 speakers, this rig can tackle any job at a moments notice.
MESA/Boogie Badlander 100 Head w/ 2x12 Vertical Rectifier Cabinet
100 watts of tight, aggressive Rectifier power matched with two Celestion Vintage 30s in MESA’s sealed Vertical Rectifier 2x12. This complete Badlander rig delivers massive punch, fast tracking, serious low-end authority, and near-4x12 scale in a considerably more manageable professional stack.
The MESA/Boogie Badlander 100 and Vertical Rectifier 2x12 are an exceptionally natural pairing.
The Badlander takes the Rectifier concept in a tighter, faster, more mid-forward direction, using four EL34 power tubes and a completely modern preamp architecture to deliver everything from articulate cleans and muscular crunch to aggressive high-gain tones that remain exceptionally defined.
Underneath it, the MESA Vertical Rectifier 2x12 supplies exactly the kind of cabinet response the Badlander needs: two Celestion Vintage 30 speakers, 120 watts of power handling, 8-ohm impedance, sealed closed-back construction, and an angled upper speaker that improves projection toward the player.
Available from Northeast Music Center, this is a complete professional MESA rig for the guitarist who wants the authority of a serious Rectifier stack without automatically committing to a full 4x12.

WHY THIS PAIRING WORKS
A great amplifier head deserves the right cabinet.
The Badlander 100 produces a tighter and more focused version of Rectifier tone, with substantial low-end energy, aggressive mids, and extremely fast tracking.
The Vertical Rectifier 2x12 complements those characteristics beautifully.
Its sealed enclosure keeps the bottom end controlled, while the two Vintage 30s add the strong midrange presence and harmonic complexity that have become central to the MESA Rectifier sound.
The result is a rig that feels immediate.
Palm-muted riffs hit hard.
Lower tunings stay focused.
Complex chords retain separation.
Lead tones have enough midrange authority to cut through a full band.
Instead of pairing the Badlander with a cabinet chosen simply because it fits underneath the head, Northeast Music Center is offering a combination in which the amp and enclosure reinforce each other.
TWO CELESTION VINTAGE 30s
The speakers are too important to bury in the specifications.
This cabinet is loaded with two Celestion Vintage 30s.
The Vintage 30 has become closely associated with MESA Rectifier cabinets because its assertive midrange, controlled bass response, harmonic detail, and ability to remain articulate under substantial gain work particularly well with powerful MESA heads.
The cabinet handles 120 watts RMS, giving the Badlander 100 an appropriately matched professional enclosure.
At Northeast Music Center, we consider speaker choice one of the most important parts of a complete amplifier rig.
The cabinet is not an accessory to the amplifier.
It is part of the sound.
A TIGHTER, FASTER RECTIFIER
The Badlander 100 isn't simply another Dual Rectifier.
MESA designed it around a tighter low end, stronger midrange focus, enhanced harmonic detail, and faster response.
That becomes especially important with modern playing styles.
Fast alternate picking remains articulate.
Palm-muted rhythm work stays controlled.
Extended-range guitars retain definition.
Lower tunings don't automatically turn into an oversized low-frequency wash.
Yet the amplifier still has the physical authority you expect from a 100-watt MESA with four EL34 power tubes.
This is Rectifier muscle with a different emphasis:
More focus. More immediacy. More precision.
CLEAN / CRUNCH / CRUSH – ON BOTH CHANNELS
The Badlander uses MESA's Channel Cloning architecture, giving both channels access to:
CLEAN
CRUNCH
CRUSH
That means you're not forced into a conventional clean-channel/lead-channel setup.
You can configure:
Channel 1 – Clean / Channel 2 – Crush
or:
Channel 1 – Crunch Rhythm / Channel 2 – Crunch Lead
or even:
Channel 1 – Crush Rhythm / Channel 2 – Crush Lead
Each channel gets independent Gain, Treble, Mid, Bass, Presence, Master and CabClone IR selection.
The layout is easy to understand but remarkably flexible.
100 / 50 / 20 WATTS
The Badlander 100 also gives you three power configurations.
100 Watts – all four EL34s operating for maximum authority, headroom and low-end control.
50 Watts – two EL34s for a different response and power level.
20 Watts – two power tubes operating in Triode for a sweeter, more readily driven power-section feel.
This isn't simply three volume settings.
Each changes how the amplifier responds beneath your hands.
That makes the Badlander equally useful on a large stage, in a rehearsal space, or in the studio.
VERTICAL / SLANT PROJECTION
The Vertical Rectifier cabinet isn't simply a horizontal 2x12 stood on end.
MESA designed it with roughly the same internal area as its Horizontal Rectifier 2x12, helping preserve the punch and scale players expect from the Rectifier cabinet family.
The upper speaker angles upward toward the guitarist, creating a natural monitoring effect.
Instead of both speakers firing straight past your legs, more of the sound reaches your ears.
For live use, that's genuinely practical.
The vertical format also takes up less floor width while still giving the rig the visual and sonic presence of a serious stack.
NEAR-4x12 AUTHORITY WITHOUT THE FULL 4x12
There is still something special about standing in front of a great 4x12.
There is also the reality of moving one.
The Vertical Rectifier 2x12 offers an attractive middle ground.
Two Vintage 30s.
Substantial internal volume.
Sealed construction.
Vertical projection.
Real low-frequency authority.
MESA specifically positions the cabinet as capable of producing a 4x12-like sonic footprint in situations where bringing a full 4x12 isn't practical.
That makes it especially well suited to the Badlander 100.
You still get a rig that looks, sounds and feels substantial without taking on the full size and weight of a traditional half stack.
CABCLONE IR – THE RIG DOESN'T STOP AT THE PHYSICAL CABINET
The Badlander 100 also includes MESA's CabClone IR system.
Eight MESA cabinet IRs are loaded internally, and each channel can have its own IR assignment.
You can connect the physical Vertical Rectifier cabinet and simultaneously send an IR-based XLR signal to front-of-house or a recording interface.
Or use the amplifier's internal reactive load for properly configured cabinet-free recording and headphone practice.
That means this stack can function as:
A traditional tube amp and cabinet.
A stage rig with direct XLR output.
A recording amplifier.
A silent headphone rig.
A cabinet-free direct system.
You're buying one serious tube amplifier, but you aren't limited to one way of using it.
111 POUNDS OF ACTUAL MESA HARDWARE – SPLIT INTO TWO MANAGEABLE PIECES
The Badlander head weighs 41 lbs.
The Vertical Rectifier 2x12 weighs 70 lbs.
That puts the actual combined component weight at approximately:
111 lbs.
But unlike a single enormous enclosure, the rig separates into two manageable pieces for transport.
The cabinet also includes Track-Loc removable casters, making movement substantially easier.
Your current Northeast Music Center product page lists a 100-lb. shipping weight, which should remain a fulfillment value only if it reflects your actual packed shipment. The individual customer-facing weights should be shown accurately as 41 lbs. for the head and 70 lbs. for the cabinet.
A COMPLETE BADLANDER RIG
This is where I would position this package differently from selling the components separately.
A player shopping for a Badlander 100 ultimately needs a cabinet.
A player shopping for a serious Rectifier 2x12 ultimately needs an amplifier.
Here, the decision has already been made intelligently.
The Badlander provides the speed, gain, EL34 authority and modern flexibility.
The Vertical Rectifier provides the Vintage 30 midrange, sealed low-end punch and stage projection.
Together, they create a rig capable of clean work, classic and modern rock, progressive music, punk, hard rock, and seriously aggressive high gain.
At Northeast Music Center, that's why we see this as more than a package deal.
It's a complete professional MESA system.
No guessing about what cabinet to pair with the amplifier.
No compromise on speakers.
No need to jump immediately to a 4x12 to get serious scale.
100/50/20 watts. Four EL34s. Clean, Crunch and Crush. CabClone IR. Two Celestion Vintage 30s. 120-watt sealed Vertical Rectifier cabinet.
One complete MESA rig—tight, powerful and ready to work.
