ONE MESA 5U4 RECTIFIER TUBE

Unlike the smaller Mark Five: 25, the full-size Mark V incorporates tube rectification as part of its sophisticated power architecture.
Depending on the channel and wattage setting, the amplifier can use tube or silicon-diode rectification to alter the response and feel of the power section.
The 5U4 therefore isn't simply another tube inside the chassis.

SELECTABLE RECTIFICATION

The full-size Mark V incorporates sophisticated rectification options.

Tube rectification can create a softer, more elastic response with additional give.
Silicon diodes provide a tighter and more immediate feel.
MESA's Recto Tracking™ architecture coordinates the appropriate rectification with specific power configurations.

The Mark V uses MESA's:
Maintenance-Free Fixed Bias
design.
When using properly selected MESA power tubes and the correct Bias Select position, the amplifier is designed to operate within its intended range without the conventional adjustable-bias procedure found on many tube amplifiers.
