Some limited-edition guitars are special because of a color or an appointment. Its extraordinary Birds of a Feather fretboard treatment, DMO pickups, Pattern Thin neck, Gen III Tremolo and Phase III locking tuners create an instrument with serious appeal to both players and collectors.

THE CUSTOM 24 – WHERE THE PRS STORY BEGAN
There couldn't be a more appropriate guitar for this limited edition.
The Custom 24 is the model most closely connected to the beginning of the PRS story. Its combination of a carved figured maple top, mahogany back, 24-fret neck, 25-inch scale and tremolo helped establish a distinctly PRS approach to the electric guitar—one that wasn't simply trying to recreate what had already been done.
More than four decades later, the Custom 24 remains one of the defining instruments in the PRS lineup.
The Birds of a Feather Limited Edition celebrates that legacy while introducing something previously reserved for the highest levels of PRS production.
BIRDS OF A FEATHER – PRIVATE STOCK DESIGN COMES TO CORE
The centerpiece of this guitar is unquestionably its extraordinary Birds of a Feather fretboard inlay.
Designed by Paul Miles, PRS Director of Manufacturing and head of Private Stock, the Birds of a Feather concept originated approximately ten years ago and was previously available through the PRS Private Stock program.
For 2026, PRS is bringing the design to the Core Series for the first time.
Rather than treating each bird as an isolated inlay, the design uses contrasting woods and negative space to create a flowing composition across the fretboard. Individual birds become part of a larger visual pattern, creating movement as your eye travels along the neck.
And PRS chose particularly interesting materials to bring it to life.
The fretboard combines Ebony and Figured Maple, allowing the contrasting woods themselves to become part of the artwork.
It's immediately recognizable from across the room.
Get closer, and you begin to appreciate just how much detail is actually there.
That balance was central to Paul Miles' original concept: an inlay unmistakably PRS from a distance, with another level of craftsmanship waiting for the player who sees it up close.
ARTIST GRADE FIGURED MAPLE – CHARCOAL MICROBURST
The body deserves just as much attention.
PRS selected Artist Grade Figured Maple for the top of this limited edition, elevating the visual standard beyond an ordinary production Custom 24.
On serial number 0428332, the Charcoal Microburst treatment gives that maple a wonderfully dramatic personality.
Dark charcoal coloration frames the body before transitioning inward and allowing the individual lines of figure to emerge through the center. The effect is sophisticated rather than flashy and works beautifully with the darker visual character of the Birds of a Feather fretboard.
The natural binding provides a crisp line around the carved maple top, while the natural mahogany back creates a warm contrast when the guitar is turned over.
It's unmistakably PRS from every angle.
DMO PICKUPS – A MODERN CUSTOM 24 VOICE
The guitar is equipped with PRS DMO Treble and Bass pickups.
DMO—Dynamic, Musical, Open—reflects PRS's continued evolution of pickup design, emphasizing clarity, balance and a responsive, vocal character.
That's particularly important on a Custom 24.
This is an instrument expected to cover a tremendous amount of musical ground, and the pickups need to remain articulate whether you're playing clean, adding a little breakup or pushing into saturated lead tones.
The DMO set is paired with a Volume control, Tone control and 5-Way Blade pickup selector, providing a broad selection of full humbucking and single-coil-inspired voices without complicating the playing experience.
The result is exactly what a Custom 24 should be: versatile enough to cover a session, but distinctive enough to have its own voice.
PATTERN THIN NECK – 25" SCALE – 24 FRETS
The Pattern Thin mahogany neck provides the fast, familiar feel many Custom 24 players prefer.
Its 25-inch scale length remains an essential part of the PRS identity, while the full 24-fret layout provides unrestricted access across two complete octaves.
PRS specifies the neck at approximately 53/64" deep at the 1/2 fret and 57/64" at the 12 1/2 fret, with a 1 11/16" nut width, 2 1/4" width at the body, and a 10-inch fretboard radius.
For players who want a comfortable, relatively streamlined neck without sacrificing substance, Pattern Thin remains an excellent fit for the Custom 24 platform.
GEN III TREMOLO & PHASE III LOCKING TUNERS
PRS equips this limited edition with its Patented Gen III Tremolo and Phase III Locking Tuners with Wing Buttons.
The Gen III Tremolo offers the smooth feel and expressive control that have helped make tremolo-equipped PRS guitars so popular, while the Phase III locking tuners provide quick string changes, precise operation and excellent tuning stability.
The Wing Buttons also reduce mass at the headstock while giving the tuners a distinctly premium PRS appearance.
Together, the bridge and tuners create a system designed around stability, resonance and expressive control.
ONLY 360 WORLDWIDE
And this is where the guitar becomes especially interesting to the collector.
PRS is producing just 360 Custom 24 Birds of a Feather Limited Edition guitars worldwide in 2026.
That's a genuinely small production number for a globally distributed PRS Core instrument.
But we don't believe rarity alone makes a guitar worth owning.
What matters is what PRS chose to make rare.
Here you have the company's flagship Custom 24 platform, an Artist Grade figured maple top, a historically Private Stock-exclusive inlay concept, Ebony and Figured Maple fretboard construction, DMO pickups, Gen III Tremolo and premium Core hardware—all brought together in one limited production run.
That gives this guitar substance behind the number.
MADE IN STEVENSVILLE, MARYLAND, USA
The Custom 24 Birds of a Feather Limited Edition is proudly made by PRS in Stevensville, Maryland, USA.
For customers shopping online, that distinction is worth emphasizing.
This is a Maryland-built PRS Core instrument, created within the same American manufacturing operation responsible for the guitars that have built PRS's reputation among professional musicians, serious players and collectors.
At Northeast Music Center, we've spent decades working with PRS guitars, and special instruments like this remind us why that relationship remains so exciting.
There is tradition here.
But PRS is still willing to try something new.

This limited-edition Custom 24 comes complete with a PRS Black Paisley Hardshell Case.
It's an appropriately premium case for a guitar of this caliber and completes a package intended to be equally at home in a working player's collection or alongside other significant PRS instruments.
A LIMITED EDITION WITH A REASON TO EXIST
That's ultimately what we like about this guitar.
The Birds of a Feather Limited Edition isn't simply a Custom 24 with a commemorative badge.
PRS took an inlay concept with genuine Private Stock history and brought it to the Core Series for the first time. They paired it with an Artist Grade top, one of their most important guitar designs and a production run limited to only 360 instruments worldwide.
The result celebrates PRS history without simply recreating the past.
Serial number 0428332 combines Charcoal Microburst, Artist Grade Figured Maple, Birds of a Feather inlays, DMO pickups, Pattern Thin playability and Gen III Tremolo performance into a guitar with genuine visual identity and serious musical capability.
For the player who wants an extraordinary Custom 24—or the collector looking for a distinctive chapter in PRS history—Northeast Music Center is proud to offer this exceptional Birds of a Feather Limited Edition.
