Product Description:

Extended Range. Precision Without Compromise.

The PRS Tekton SVN in Black Tourmaline brings a sophisticated, darker aesthetic to the modern seven-string guitar. Its figured mango top, finished in Black Tourmaline, pairs beautifully with the natural maple neck, ebony fingerboard, and smoked black hardware. Beneath its distinctive appearance is an instrument built to deliver the clarity, control, and responsiveness that extended-range players need, whether they're exploring complex arrangements, aggressive low-register rhythms, or technically demanding lead work.

The Tekton SVN's 26.5" scale length is a major part of its performance. By providing additional string tension compared with a traditional 25" or 25.5" scale guitar, it helps keep the low B string focused and articulate. That added definition becomes particularly valuable when playing tightly synchronized rhythm passages, extended chord voicings, or music that makes full use of the instrument's seven-string range.

The neck has been designed specifically for this platform. PRS's Modern “D” SVN profile offers a comfortable, streamlined feel, while the natural maple neck's satin nitro finish allows your hand to move smoothly across the instrument. A 16" radius ebony fingerboard and 24 stainless steel jumbo frets make fast runs, wide bends, and precise articulation feel controlled and natural. Despite its extended range, the Tekton SVN maintains an approachable playing experience that should appeal to both experienced seven-string players and guitarists making the transition from six strings.

The figured mango top is one of the most interesting aspects of this model. Its natural grain patterns provide individual character beneath the Black Tourmaline finish, while the mahogany back gives the instrument a solid foundation. PRS's shallow violin carve and sculpted contours make the body comfortable against the player, and the bolt-on maple neck contributes to the guitar's immediate, articulate response.

The PRS Stylus SVN pickups were developed specifically for the Tekton seven-string platform. These humbuckers are designed to preserve clarity and dynamic response across the entire frequency range, even when using substantial gain. Low notes retain their definition, complex chords remain intelligible, and lead passages have the articulation needed to stand out in a dense mix.

The Stylus SVN pickups also work well with both traditional amplifiers and modern digital modeling systems. Whether you're using a tube amplifier, a sophisticated effects processor, or a recording interface with amp modeling software, the Tekton SVN is designed to deliver a consistent, musical response.

A master volume, push/pull tone control, and three-way blade pickup selector keep the electronics practical and intuitive. Coil splitting expands the guitar's tonal range, offering brighter, more open sounds alongside the full humbucker voices. This versatility makes the Tekton SVN useful for far more than heavy music alone.

The PRS seven-string hardtail bridge features individual saddles for accurate intonation and a string-through-body design intended to enhance resonance and sustain. PRS Phase III locking tuners provide dependable tuning performance and make string changes easier, while the smoked black hardware complements the guitar's modern styling.

At Northeast Music Center, we've spent decades working with PRS guitars, and the Tekton SVN represents an exciting direction for the company. It combines the attention to detail and craftsmanship associated with PRS with features designed specifically for the demands of extended-range playing.

Black Tourmaline is an especially attractive finish on the figured mango top. Its darker character allows the natural wood figuring to create visual depth, while the contrasting natural maple neck adds a touch of traditional PRS elegance. It's a distinctive combination that looks refined without sacrificing the aggressive personality of a modern seven-string instrument.

As a PRS Signature Dealer, Northeast Music Center has extensive experience helping players find the right PRS for their musical needs. From traditional Core instruments to specialized modern designs, we understand the importance of neck feel, pickup response, and overall balance.

When you purchase your PRS Tekton SVN from Northeast Music Center, you're working with a team that knows these instruments firsthand and takes pride in providing the personal service and expertise that have made our store a destination for PRS players.
