PRS Tekton T Violet Tourmaline (s/n:)! Guitar comes with PRS Premier GigBag!
Product Description:
The PRS Tekton T in Violet Tourmaline brings a fresh look and feel to the PRS lineup. With its figured mango top, sculpted body, fast Modern D neck, and newly developed Stylus pickups, this guitar was designed for musicians who want precision, comfort, and versatility. The addition of the PRS Two-Point Tremolo makes the Tekton T especially appealing to players who like to incorporate expressive vibrato into their playing.
Violet Tourmaline gives this guitar a distinctive appearance, allowing the unusual grain patterns of the figured mango top to become part of its character. The finish pairs beautifully with the Smoked Black hardware, while the natural satin maple neck provides a contrasting look and a smooth playing feel.
What makes the Tekton T particularly interesting is how different it feels from a traditional PRS.
A New Design Built Around the Player
PRS developed the Tekton family after listening to feedback from modern guitarists, creating a new platform rather than modifying an existing model.
The subtly offset body draws inspiration from the Vela and Custom shapes but introduces its own silhouette. The figured mango top sits over a thin mahogany body with a shallow violin carve, comfortable contours, and a sculpted neck heel.
The result is an instrument that feels natural against the player, whether seated or standing. Generous upper-fret access makes it easier to reach all 24 frets, an important consideration for guitarists who regularly explore the upper register.
The Modern D neck profile is PRS's thinnest standard-production neck shape, developed for players who want speed without sacrificing comfort. Its natural satin nitro finish provides a smooth surface, while the maple construction and bolt-on design contribute to the guitar's overall feel.
The 25.5" scale length, 16" ebony fingerboard radius, and 24 stainless steel jumbo frets create a particularly comfortable playing platform for technical music. The flatter fingerboard accommodates wide bends, intricate picking patterns, and fast lead passages, while the slightly wider string spacing gives the picking hand additional room for precise articulation.
Offset fingerboard inlays provide a clean, modern appearance, complementing the dark ebony fingerboard and contemporary styling.
PRS Stylus Pickups – Built for Clarity and Definition
The Tekton T features PRS Stylus pickups, developed specifically for this new guitar family.
PRS designed these pickups to provide aggressive tones while retaining the clarity and responsiveness that modern players need. Their output is more even than many traditional humbuckers, helping preserve note separation and definition when playing through high-gain amplification.
That balance is especially useful for guitarists who use digital modeling and profiling systems. Whether you're playing through a traditional tube amplifier or working with a modern digital rig, the Stylus pickups are designed to deliver a dynamic, articulate response.
The controls are intentionally straightforward: a master volume, push/pull tone control, and three-way blade pickup selector.
Pulling the tone control splits the pickups, providing additional tonal options beyond the full humbucker sounds. PRS developed the Stylus pickups so that both full and split settings remain musically useful, giving players flexibility without unnecessary complexity.
From articulate clean passages to saturated lead tones, the Tekton T provides a versatile foundation for a wide range of musical styles.
PRS Two-Point Tremolo – Expressive Performance
The PRS Two-Point Tremolo is one of the defining features of the Tekton T.
Constructed with a steel plate and brass saddles, this bridge provides smooth tremolo operation and supports a floating setup. The two-point mounting system is designed to offer dependable tuning stability while allowing players to add expressive pitch movement to their performance.
For subtle vibrato, the tremolo can add movement and character to sustained chords and single notes. For more adventurous players, it opens up additional possibilities for pitch manipulation during lead passages.
The brass saddles contribute to the guitar's resonance and tonal response, while the steel plate provides a solid foundation for the bridge.
PRS Phase III locking tuners complement the tremolo system, offering reliable tuning performance and convenient string changes.
For players who enjoy the expressive freedom of a tremolo but also want the precision and comfort of a modern performance guitar, the Tekton T is an excellent combination.
A New Generation of PRS Guitars
At Northeast Music Center, we've worked closely with PRS guitars for decades, and we've watched the company continually develop new ideas while maintaining its commitment to craftsmanship.
The Tekton T represents a particularly interesting addition to the lineup because it brings together an entirely new body shape, neck profile, pickup system, and tremolo design in a guitar created specifically for modern players.
The Violet Tourmaline finish adds a distinctive visual personality to that design. Its figured mango top, natural satin maple neck, and Smoked Black hardware create an attractive combination that stands apart from more traditional PRS finishes.
With more than 30 years of Jack Gretz selling PRS guitars and 15 years of Northeast Music Center representing the brand, we appreciate the attention to detail that goes into developing an instrument like the Tekton T.
For musicians who want a fast, comfortable guitar with exceptional note clarity, modern electronics, and expressive tremolo capabilities, the Violet Tourmaline Tekton T offers a compelling new option.
Northeast Music Center is proud to offer this exciting PRS model, complete with its PRS Premium Gig Bag.
