Product Description:

A Wider Range of Possibilities

The PRS Tekton SVN in Violet Tourmaline brings together the visual appeal of a figured mango top and the precision of a purpose-built seven-string electric guitar. The rich Violet Tourmaline finish gives the wood a distinctive character, beautifully complemented by the natural maple neck, ebony fingerboard, and smoked black hardware. It's an appealing combination for players who appreciate the craftsmanship of a finely made PRS but need the extended range and performance features of a modern seven-string.

The Tekton SVN is designed to make that additional string feel like a natural extension of your playing. Its 26.5" scale length provides the added tension needed to keep the low B string controlled and articulate, particularly when using high-gain sounds or exploring lower tunings. From tight, percussive rhythm work to expansive chord voicings and melodic passages that move across all seven strings, the SVN offers the definition and responsiveness to handle a wide variety of musical approaches.

PRS developed the Modern “D” SVN neck profile specifically for this extended-range platform. The neck has a comfortable, streamlined feel, while its satin nitro finish provides a smooth playing surface. The 16" radius ebony fingerboard and 24 stainless steel jumbo frets make a noticeable difference in the playing experience, allowing for fluid bends, fast picking, and precise articulation. Despite the wider neck required for seven strings, the Tekton SVN maintains an inviting feel that should appeal to players transitioning from traditional six-string guitars as well as experienced extended-range musicians.

The figured mango top is an important part of this guitar's personality. Its natural grain patterns create visual interest beneath the Violet Tourmaline finish, while the mahogany back provides a substantial foundation. PRS's shallow violin carve and ergonomic body contours keep the instrument comfortable against the player, and the bolt-on maple neck contributes to its immediate, articulate response.

The PRS Stylus SVN humbuckers were designed specifically for the Tekton seven-string platform. Their balanced voicing emphasizes clarity, note separation, and dynamic response across the instrument's extended frequency range. Even when using substantial distortion, low notes remain defined and complex chords retain their detail. These pickups also respond beautifully to expressive lead playing, where articulation and picking dynamics are just as important as power.

Whether you're using a traditional tube amplifier, a modern digital modeling system, or a sophisticated recording setup, the Stylus SVN pickups are designed to deliver musical, consistent results. Their versatility makes this guitar equally useful for progressive rock, metal, fusion, instrumental music, and more experimental styles.

The electronics remain simple and practical. A master volume, push/pull tone control, and three-way blade switch provide easy access to the full humbucker voices and additional coil-split tones. This allows the Tekton SVN to move comfortably between powerful rhythm sounds, articulate cleans, and expressive leads without complicated switching arrangements.

The PRS seven-string hardtail bridge features individual saddles for precise intonation and a string-through-body design intended to enhance resonance and sustain. PRS Phase III locking tuners provide dependable tuning performance and make string changes easier, completing a hardware package designed for serious playing.

At Northeast Music Center, we've spent decades working with PRS guitars, and the Tekton SVN represents an exciting expansion of what the company offers modern players. It combines the thoughtful construction and attention to detail that have long defined PRS with features specifically developed for the demands of extended-range performance.

Violet Tourmaline is a particularly attractive finish for the figured mango top. The color brings out the natural movement and character of the wood while giving the guitar a contemporary appearance. Paired with the natural maple neck and smoked black hardware, it creates a distinctive look that feels unmistakably PRS.

As a PRS Signature Dealer, Northeast Music Center has extensive firsthand experience with the company's instruments, from traditional Core models to specialized performance guitars. We understand that finding the right seven-string involves more than simply adding another string; neck feel, scale length, pickup response, and overall balance all matter.

When you purchase your PRS Tekton SVN from Northeast Music Center, you're working with a team that knows these instruments and takes pride in providing the knowledgeable, personal service our customers have come to expect.
