Product Description:

Extend Your Range. Explore What's Possible.

The PRS Tekton SVN in Slate Blue brings a fresh approach to the modern seven-string electric guitar. With its figured mango top, mahogany back, natural maple neck, and distinctive Slate Blue finish, this instrument combines beautiful craftsmanship with the performance features serious extended-range players demand. It's a guitar designed to make exploring lower tunings, intricate arrangements, and more technically demanding music feel natural and inspiring.

One of the most important features of the Tekton SVN is its 26.5" scale length. That extra length provides increased string tension and improved definition in the lower register, particularly important when working with the extended range of a seven-string guitar. Low notes remain focused and articulate, while the instrument maintains a responsive feel for expressive lead work and complex chord voicings.

The Modern “D” SVN neck profile is specifically designed for the seven-string format. Combined with a 16" radius ebony fingerboard and 24 stainless steel jumbo frets, it provides a smooth, precise playing experience across the entire neck. The natural maple neck features a satin nitro finish that feels comfortable in the hand, making fast passages, wide stretches, and extended playing sessions more enjoyable.

The combination of a figured mango top and mahogany back gives this Tekton a character all its own. The shallow violin carve and ergonomic body contours provide comfort and easy access to the upper frets, while the bolt-on maple neck contributes to the guitar's direct response and articulation. The Slate Blue finish complements the natural figuring of the mango top, giving each instrument its own distinctive appearance.

PRS developed the Stylus SVN pickups specifically for the extended-range Tekton platform. These humbuckers are voiced to deliver clarity, aggression, and dynamic response across all seven strings. Even under substantial gain, individual notes remain defined, allowing complex chords and tightly executed rhythm passages to retain their detail. They're equally comfortable through traditional amplifiers and modern digital modeling systems, making the Tekton SVN an excellent choice for players who use a variety of recording and performance setups.

The electronics are straightforward and versatile. A master volume, push/pull tone control, and three-way blade pickup selector provide access to powerful humbucker sounds and additional coil-split tones. Whether you're looking for articulate cleans, focused low-register rhythm sounds, or expressive lead tones, the Stylus SVN pickups provide a wide range of musical possibilities.

The PRS seven-string hardtail bridge features individual saddles for precise intonation and a string-through-body design intended to enhance resonance and sustain. PRS Phase III locking tuners provide reliable tuning performance and make string changes easier, while the smoked black hardware gives the guitar a clean, contemporary appearance.

At Northeast Music Center, we've spent decades working closely with PRS guitars, and the Tekton SVN represents an exciting addition to the company's growing range of specialized instruments. It combines the attention to detail and craftsmanship that have long defined PRS with the extended-range performance features today's players are looking for.

The Slate Blue finish is particularly attractive on the figured mango top. Rather than covering the natural beauty of the wood, it allows the figuring to become part of the guitar's visual character. Paired with the natural maple neck, ebony fingerboard, and smoked black hardware, the result is an instrument that feels both modern and distinctly PRS.

As a PRS Signature Dealer, Northeast Music Center has extensive firsthand experience with the PRS lineup, from traditional Core models to specialized performance guitars. We understand how important neck dimensions, scale length, and pickup response are when choosing an extended-range instrument.

When you purchase your PRS Tekton SVN from Northeast Music Center, you're working with a team that knows these instruments and takes pride in providing the knowledgeable, personal service that has made our store a destination for PRS players.
