MESA/Boogie Mark VII All-Tube Amplifier Head – British Cabernet / Wicker Grille

Nine distinct MESA voices. Three independent channels. 90, 45, or 25 watts selectable per channel. Mark IIB, Mark IIC+, Mark IV, and the modern Mark VII voice—all wrapped in a stunning British Cabernet and Wicker configuration.

The MESA/Boogie Mark VII represents more than five decades of Mark Series evolution distilled into one remarkably compact professional amplifier.

This is an amp capable of moving from dimensional American cleans and classic Boogie crunch to the legendary Mark IIC+ and Mark IV voices, then pushing beyond them with the aggressive modern Mark VII mode—all without leaving a genuine all-tube signal path.

And this particular Mark VII is anything but ordinary.

Finished in rich British Cabernet with a classic Wicker Grille, it gives MESA's technologically advanced flagship amplifier a distinctly old-school Boogie personality.

Available from Northeast Music Center, this is a Mark VII for the player who wants extraordinary versatility without giving up the feel, response, and character that made the Mark Series legendary.

THREE CHANNELS. NINE MESA VOICES.

This is where the Mark VII separates itself from almost everything else.

Each of its three channels offers three distinct modes, but these aren't simply minor EQ variations.

CHANNEL 1 — CLEAN / FAT / CRUNCH

Clean provides the articulate, dimensional response expected from a great MESA clean platform.

Fat adds body, warmth, and harmonic richness.

Crunch pushes into authoritative overdrive and classic rock territory.

For many players, Channel 1 alone could cover an entire gig.

CHANNEL 2 — FAT / CRUNCH / MARK VII

Channel 2 repeats Fat and Crunch, which is far more useful than it may initially sound. It allows you to configure two completely different gain structures around related voices.

Then comes Mark VII.

This is MESA's modern high-gain voice—aggressive, articulate, and designed to take the Mark Series into contemporary territory rather than simply recreating another historic circuit.

CHANNEL 3 — MARK IIB / MARK IIC+ / MARK IV

For the serious Boogie enthusiast, this channel is difficult to ignore.

Mark IIB. Mark IIC+. Mark IV.

Three generations of MESA history are available from one channel. MESA itself describes the IIB and Mark VII modes as important additions to the Mark VII's tonal palette.

The Mark IIC+ mode delivers the tight, articulate, harmonically saturated response associated with one of the most revered high-gain amplifiers ever created.

The Mark IV mode brings another landmark Mark Series voice with its own saturation and authority.

And Mark IIB reaches farther back into Boogie history for a different character entirely.

This isn't modeling.

These voices live within a real five-12AX7, four-6L6 MESA tube amplifier.

90 / 45 / 25 WATTS — PER CHANNEL

The Mark VII's Multi-Watt power section is another major selling point.

Each channel can independently be assigned 90, 45, or 25 watts.

At 90 watts, all four power tubes operate through MESA's celebrated Simul-Class architecture for maximum authority and headroom.

At 45 watts, two tubes operate in Class A Pentode.

At 25 watts, two tubes operate in Class A Triode.

This means wattage becomes part of your channel programming.

Run a clean channel at 90 watts for maximum headroom.

Set Crunch at 45 watts for a different power-section response.

Run your high-gain lead channel at 25 watts for yet another feel.

That's considerably more sophisticated than simply having one global half-power switch.

THE FIVE-BAND GRAPHIC EQ

Then there are those five famous sliders.

MESA's 5-band Graphic EQ is one of the most recognizable tone-shaping tools in amplifier history.

The Mark VII allows the Graphic EQ to be assigned independently by channel, switched on, switched off, or placed under footswitch control.

That means the legendary scooped Mark response is only the beginning.

Use the EQ to tighten your rhythm channel.

Push mids for a lead sound.

Add bottom-end authority to a clean voice.

Or create dramatically different tonal responses between channels.

CABCLONE IR — A REAL TUBE AMP BUILT FOR MODERN RECORDING

This is one of the biggest reasons the Mark VII deserves serious consideration as a modern professional amplifier.

MESA integrates its CabClone IR Direct Interface directly into the amplifier.

Each channel can be assigned one of eight MESA cabinet IRs, giving your Clean, Crunch, and Lead sounds different direct cabinet configurations if desired.

You get a balanced XLR direct output, headphone output, IR level control, uncompensated line output, USB connectivity, and—most importantly—an internal amplifier load.

That internal load allows the Mark VII to operate without a speaker cabinet connected.

For recording musicians, that's huge.

You can have the experience of playing through a genuine four-6L6 MESA tube amplifier while recording silently through the built-in IR system.

No microphone.

No speaker cabinet required.

No waking up the neighborhood.

MIDI + 256 PRESET LOCATIONS

The Mark VII can also sit at the center of a sophisticated modern guitar rig.

Its MIDI implementation supports Program Change and Control Change commands with 256 preset locations, controlling Channels 1–3, Reverb, Effects Loop, and Graphic EQ.

For a guitarist running a MIDI pedalboard, effects processor, or complex touring system, that makes the Mark VII far more than a traditional three-channel tube head.

Yet you don't need any of that to enjoy it.

The included six-button footswitch gives direct access to the three channels plus Reverb, Effects Loop, and Graphic EQ.

BRITISH CABERNET + WICKER — MODERN MARK VII, CLASSIC BOOGIE SOUL

Then we get to the reason to choose this particular Mark VII.

British Cabernet and Wicker.

The deep wine-colored covering transforms the amplifier's appearance, while the Wicker Grille immediately connects it visually with the classic custom Boogies that helped establish MESA's reputation decades ago.

That's what makes this configuration so interesting.

Underneath is arguably one of the most technologically sophisticated Mark amplifiers MESA has ever produced.

Outside, it looks unmistakably old-school Boogie.

At Northeast Music Center, we think that's a particularly fitting combination.

The Mark VII is about bringing more than 50 years of MESA history together in one amplifier, and this British Cabernet/Wicker configuration visually connects the latest chapter of the Mark Series with the custom-built Boogies that came before it.

Whether you're a longtime Mark Series player, professional touring musician, studio owner, or guitarist looking for one tube amplifier capable of covering an enormous range of music, the Mark VII deserves serious consideration.

And if you're going to own MESA's modern Mark flagship, Northeast Music Center believes there's something especially satisfying about choosing one that doesn't look like every other Mark VII.

Three channels. Nine modes. 90/45/25 watts. Mark IIB. Mark IIC+. Mark IV. Mark VII. Graphic EQ. CabClone IR. MIDI.

More than five decades of Boogie evolution—in one extraordinary amplifier.
