The PRS Tekton Hardtail in Bloodstone Red is a bold new expression of what a modern PRS guitar can be. Designed for players who demand precision, speed, and exceptional tonal clarity, the Tekton introduces an entirely new body shape, neck profile, and pickup design. It's a guitar built around the needs of today's musicians, while retaining the craftsmanship and attention to detail that have defined PRS for decades.

The Bloodstone Red finish makes a powerful first impression. Applied over a figured mango top, it brings out the wood's distinctive grain patterns and natural character. Mango has a different visual personality than traditional flame or quilted maple, with figuring that gives each guitar an individual appearance. The black satin-finished maple neck complements the darker character of the finish, while Smoked Black hardware completes the instrument's modern, purposeful look.

The Tekton's body is unlike anything PRS has offered in its standard production lineup. Drawing inspiration from the Vela and Custom designs, PRS developed a thinner, more sculpted body with a comfortable belly carve and an exaggerated upper-fret scoop. It's the thinnest standard-production PRS body to date, designed to sit naturally against the player and remain comfortable through extended playing sessions.

The neck follows the same performance-focused approach. PRS developed a new Modern D profile, its thinnest standard-production neck carve, while retaining enough shoulder to provide a comfortable, supportive feel. The black satin nitro finish offers a smooth playing surface, and internal hormigo reinforcement rods add strength and rigidity to the maple neck.

A 25.5" scale length, 16" ebony fingerboard radius, and 24 stainless steel jumbo frets give the Tekton a noticeably different feel from a traditional PRS. The flatter fingerboard provides an excellent foundation for precise picking, wide bends, intricate chord voicings, and fast lead passages. Slightly wider string spacing, similar to the PRS Silver Sky and Fiore, gives the picking hand additional room for accurate articulation.

Offset fingerboard inlays give the ebony board a clean, contemporary appearance, while Luminlay side dots make it easier to navigate the neck under dark stage lighting.

PRS Stylus Pickups – Built for Modern Amplification

The Tekton introduces the new PRS Stylus humbuckers, developed specifically for this guitar family.

These Alnico 5 pickups were designed to deliver an aggressive, articulate sound while preserving clarity and dynamic response. Rather than simply increasing output, PRS focused on creating pickups that maintain note separation and musical character, even when playing through high-gain amplification.

An important part of the Stylus design is its compatibility with modern digital guitar systems. Whether you're using a traditional tube amplifier, a Neural DSP setup, a Fractal Audio processor, Kemper, or another modeling platform, the pickups are voiced to provide a balanced, responsive signal that works well across different amplification environments.

The electronics are straightforward and versatile. A master volume, push/pull tone control, and three-way blade selector allow players to access full humbucker sounds as well as split-coil tones. PRS specifically developed the Stylus pickups so that both humbucking and split settings remain useful, providing a wide range of sounds without sacrificing clarity or focus.

The PRS Hardtail bridge contributes to the guitar's direct, immediate response and provides the simplicity and stability that many technical players prefer. PRS Phase III locking tuners complete the hardware package, offering dependable tuning and convenient string changes.
