PRS Tekton Hardtail Slate Blue (s/n:)! Guitar comes with PRS Premium GigBag!

Product Description

PRS has always been known for building guitars that combine exceptional craftsmanship with outstanding playability. With the introduction of the new Tekton family, PRS takes that philosophy in a decidedly modern direction. The Tekton Hardtail is designed for guitarists who demand speed, precision, tonal clarity, and an instrument that responds naturally to every nuance of their playing.

The Slate Blue finish gives this Tekton a distinctive appearance, highlighting the unique grain and character of its figured mango top. Unlike the more familiar maple tops found on many PRS models, mango offers an interesting visual texture, with natural figuring that makes each instrument a little different. Combined with a mahogany back, Smoked Black hardware, and the newly sculpted Tekton body, the result is a guitar that looks modern without losing its PRS identity.

What really sets the Tekton apart is how it feels.

PRS developed an entirely new body shape for this series, drawing inspiration from both the Vela and Custom body designs. The result is the thinnest body PRS has produced in its standard production lineup, with a comfortable belly carve and an exaggerated upper-fret scoop. Whether you're playing seated, standing through a long performance, or reaching for notes at the top of the fingerboard, the Tekton feels exceptionally natural.

The neck represents another significant departure from traditional PRS designs. Its new Modern D profile is the thinnest neck carve PRS has offered in standard production, but with enough substance to remain comfortable and supportive in the hand. A 25.5" scale length, 16" fingerboard radius, and 24 stainless steel jumbo frets provide the kind of playing surface that technical players appreciate. Fast runs, wide bends, intricate chord voicings, and demanding lead passages all benefit from the Tekton's carefully considered geometry.

The ebony fingerboard features a new offset-dot inlay design, along with Luminlay side dots for improved visibility on dark stages. PRS also incorporated internal hormigo reinforcement rods into the maple neck to increase rigidity and stability while contributing to the instrument's resonant response.

Introducing PRS Stylus Pickups

The electronics are just as important as the guitar's new construction.

PRS developed the Stylus humbuckers specifically for the Tekton family, with a focus on clarity, articulation, and controlled output. Rather than simply producing the hottest pickups possible, PRS voiced these Alnico 5 humbuckers to preserve note definition, even when playing complex passages through high-gain amplifiers.

That approach also makes the Tekton particularly well suited to today's digital modeling systems and profiling rigs. The Stylus pickups deliver an aggressive, responsive voice while maintaining the balance and definition needed for both traditional tube amplifiers and modern digital setups.

A three-way blade switch works with individual volume and push/pull tone controls, allowing players to move between full humbucker sounds and split-coil textures. PRS designed each pickup position to remain musically useful, giving the Tekton versatility beyond its modern, high-performance appearance.

The PRS Hardtail bridge provides a solid, straightforward connection between the strings and body, while Phase III locking tuners help make string changes convenient and tuning reliable. Together, they make this an excellent choice for guitarists who prefer the consistency and direct response of a fixed-bridge instrument.

A New Chapter for PRS

At Northeast Music Center, we've had the opportunity to experience the evolution of PRS guitars for decades. From the original Custom 24 to the Wood Library and Private Stock programs, we've seen how the company continues to refine its instruments while listening closely to the musicians who play them.

The Tekton represents something particularly interesting: not simply another variation of an existing model, but an entirely new family of PRS guitars built around the needs of modern players.

With more than 30 years of Jack Gretz working with PRS guitars and 15 years of Northeast Music Center representing the brand, we're especially excited to introduce a model that expands what players can expect from a PRS instrument.

The Slate Blue Tekton Hardtail combines exceptional ergonomics, purpose-built electronics, and a fresh visual identity into a guitar that feels ready for today's most demanding musical environments.

Whether you're working with high-gain tube amplifiers, sophisticated digital rigs, or a combination of both, this is a guitar designed to respond to your playing rather than get in the way of it.

Northeast Music Center is proud to offer the new PRS Tekton Hardtail in Slate Blue, complete with its PRS Premium Gig Bag.
