Product Description

The PRS Tekton T in Imperial Topaz brings a fresh approach to modern electric guitar design, combining the craftsmanship PRS is known for with features developed specifically for today's technically demanding players. Its sculpted body, fast Modern D neck, stainless steel frets, and newly designed Stylus pickups make it an exciting addition to the PRS lineup. With the added versatility of a PRS Two-Point Tremolo, the Tekton T gives players even more freedom to shape their sound.

Imperial Topaz is a particularly attractive finish for this model. The warm coloring complements the figured mango top, allowing the wood's distinctive grain and natural character to become part of the guitar's appearance. Unlike traditional flame or quilted maple, figured mango has a personality of its own, making each top visually unique. The natural satin maple neck provides a beautiful contrast, while Smoked Black hardware gives the guitar a clean, contemporary look.

A Completely New PRS Playing Experience

The Tekton T isn't simply a familiar PRS model with a different bridge. It's part of an entirely new family of guitars developed through years of experience and direct feedback from musicians.

PRS created a subtly offset body shape that draws inspiration from the Vela and Custom designs while introducing its own identity. The thin mahogany body, shallow violin carve, comfortable contours, and sculpted neck heel make the guitar feel natural whether you're playing seated or standing. Generous upper-fret access makes reaching all 24 frets comfortable, particularly during demanding lead passages.

The neck is equally impressive. PRS developed a new Modern D profile, its thinnest standard-production neck carve, designed to accommodate fast playing while maintaining a comfortable, supportive feel. The natural satin nitro finish allows the hand to move smoothly along the neck, while the maple construction provides a solid foundation for the instrument.

A 25.5" scale length, 16" ebony fingerboard radius, and 24 stainless steel jumbo frets give the Tekton T a modern playing feel. The flatter fingerboard is especially appealing for wide bends, intricate picking, and technical passages, while the slightly wider string spacing provides additional room for accurate right-hand articulation.

Offset fingerboard inlays contribute to the guitar's modern appearance, and Luminlay side dots are a welcome feature for musicians performing under changing stage lighting.

PRS Stylus Pickups – Clarity Without Compromise

The Tekton T introduces PRS Stylus humbuckers, designed specifically for this new family of guitars.

PRS developed these pickups to deliver the articulation and aggression modern players want without losing the musical character that makes a guitar enjoyable to play. The Stylus design provides a more even output response than many traditional humbuckers, helping individual notes remain clear when using substantial amounts of gain.

That response is particularly useful for guitarists working with digital modeling and profiling systems. Whether you're using a traditional tube amplifier or a modern digital rig, the Stylus pickups are designed to deliver clarity, dynamics, and a responsive playing experience.

A master volume, push/pull tone control, and three-way blade pickup selector keep the electronics straightforward. The push/pull control provides coil splitting, giving players access to brighter, more open sounds alongside the full humbucker tones. PRS carefully voiced the pickups so both settings offer useful musical possibilities.

PRS Two-Point Tremolo – Shape Every Note

One of the most important features separating the Tekton T from its Hardtail counterpart is the PRS Two-Point Tremolo with a steel plate and brass saddles.

The classic two-point mounting system provides smooth tremolo operation and is capable of a floating setup, allowing players to add expressive pitch movement to their performance.

From subtle vibrato on sustained notes to more pronounced pitch changes during lead passages, the tremolo expands the instrument's expressive range. The brass saddles contribute to the guitar's resonance and tonal character, while the steel plate provides a sturdy foundation for the bridge.

Combined with PRS Phase III locking tuners, the tremolo system is designed to offer dependable tuning performance while giving guitarists the freedom to experiment with vibrato techniques.

For musicians who enjoy incorporating tremolo expression into their playing, this is a significant part of what makes the Tekton T so appealing.

A New Direction for PRS at Northeast Music Center

At Northeast Music Center, we've worked closely with PRS guitars for decades, and one of the things we've always appreciated is the company's willingness to develop new instruments around the needs of real musicians.

The Tekton T is a great example. Its thinner body, redesigned neck, stainless steel frets, Stylus pickups, and expressive tremolo system all serve a purpose. Together, they create a guitar that feels comfortable, responsive, and ready for a wide variety of playing styles.

The Imperial Topaz finish adds another dimension to the instrument. Its warm coloring and figured mango top give it a distinctive appearance, while the natural satin maple neck and Smoked Black hardware provide a balanced, modern aesthetic.

With more than 30 years of Jack Gretz selling PRS guitars and 15 years of Northeast Music Center representing the brand, we understand how important it is for an instrument to feel right in a player's hands.

Whether you're exploring progressive rock, fusion, modern metal, or simply looking for a versatile guitar with exceptional playability and expressive tremolo capabilities, the Tekton T offers something genuinely different.

Northeast Music Center is proud to offer the PRS Tekton T in Imperial Topaz, complete with its PRS Premium Gig Bag.
