THE DUAL RECTIFIER — A MODERN GUITAR ICON

Some amplifiers produce great high-gain sounds.

The Dual Rectifier helped define what modern high gain sounds like.

Its enormous low-frequency response, aggressive attack, harmonic saturation, and physical feel became part of the vocabulary of rock, alternative, punk, metal, and countless heavier styles.

But reducing the Dual Rectifier to a "metal amp" misses much of what the current amplifier can do.

MESA expanded the platform into three independent channels and eight modes, giving today's Dual Rectifier considerably greater range than the early versions that established its reputation.

THREE CHANNELS — EIGHT MODES

CHANNEL 1 — CLEAN / PUSHED

Clean provides the foundation for full, dimensional clean sounds and pedal-based rigs.

Switch to Pushed and the channel moves toward edge-of-breakup and overdriven territory, giving the Dual Rectifier an entirely different personality.

CHANNEL 2 — RAW / VINTAGE / MODERN

Raw offers lower gain and greater dynamic range.

Vintage delivers richer harmonic saturation and the more liquid side of Rectifier gain.

Modern brings the aggressive attack, enormous punch, and unmistakable high-gain authority for which the Dual Rectifier became famous.

CHANNEL 3 — RAW / VINTAGE / MODERN

Channel 3 provides the same three-mode architecture with its own independent controls, making sophisticated rhythm/lead configurations possible.

That means you can build a complete performance rig around one amplifier rather than treating the Dual Rectifier as a single high-gain sound.

100 OR 50 WATTS — ON EACH CHANNEL

This is one of the most important features of the modern Dual Rectifier.

MESA's Multi-Watt™ architecture allows 50- or 100-watt operation to be selected independently for each of the three channels.

Channel 1 – 100W Clean

Channel 2 – 50W Vintage

Channel 3 – 100W Modern

Or configure the amplifier completely differently.

At 50 watts, two power tubes are used.

At 100 watts, all four 6L6s come online for maximum authority and headroom.

SEALED RECTIFIER PUNCH

The Vertical Rectifier cabinet is constructed from void-free marine-grade Baltic birch, with heavy-duty rabbet corners and a dado-jointed, braced speaker baffle.

That substantial construction contributes to what players actually hear and feel.

The cabinet stays controlled.

The low end hits with authority.

The enclosure doesn't feel lightweight or disconnected from the amplifier sitting above it.

With a Dual Rectifier, that's particularly important.

A huge amplifier needs a cabinet capable of translating that power.

The upper speaker angles toward the guitarist.
